Side Cutter Sewing Machine Foot - Cut and Sew with Regular Sewing Machine! 

thanks yours is the only tut i have seen that shows where to put the claw part ..everyone else just says attach it i was thinking yeah but to what so thanks

This is very thorough, yet detailed showing every little process to follow. I like the fact you gave the difference between the low/high shank. Thank you!

The only thing I would add is that you need to make sure the needle clears the bar and the edge of the foot using your hand wheel before you start, or you will break your needle.

More than that I am more than happy that I don't have to buy a serger. I can use my "sock" money for more fabric and not another piece of machinery. I've been researching for a while, wanting this serger/cutter foot. So, I have to order a low shank one for home sewing machines, basically, a universal one that fits most machines, not a high shank one for industrial sewing machines. I've made a body pillowcase without serger edging. I just bought a Janome and want the rest of my work completed properly. I think this is the answer without the expense of buying a serger. I like your detailed explanation of how to put it on and showing me where the blade is. Thank you.

I have a low shank machine, bought the foot and it doesn't work. Followed your directions to the T. The blade refuses to continue cutting. So disappointing.

Thanks for the video. I watched while waiting for my to come in the mail. Once I got it I couldn't get it to cut ,just kept bunching up.after looking things over all I can think was the blade was on backwards, so I took it and turn it.and it cut.then re watched your video sure enough the blade on yours was backwards to the way mine was. However my blade is a bit dull so I'm not getting a clean cut and still a tad bit of bunching but its cutting for the most part.also had a issue with the needle hitting the little bar.also after taking a closer look at my sewing machine it was the cover.the cover the preventing the cutter from lining up right so I took it off and now it lines up fine.

I have one of these stuck in the draw, not sure what it was or how to use it, looking at spending hounds of pounds on a overlocker that might not that that much use, and would take up alot of space, after watching your video, I understand what it is, how to use it, you have saved me money and it looks alot easier then a overlocker, thank you

I have one of these side cutter CY-10 gizmo thingy. I had it cutting and sewing once only. Now, try as I might, I cannot get it to cut anything. It seems to me like the blade isn't low enough onto the fabric to cut and the feed dogs don't seem to grab any fabric , consequently I get a nasty knot of thread . Good job I'm only testing on scrap, or it would ruin any project I was working on. Can anyone help in any way? Even watching closely the video above is no help in this case. ( Not the video makers fault obs!)

The side cutter that I have does not have the moving foot liyours but the rest of the cutter is made just like yours and I have had difficulty with it but thank for the demonstrstion. I will try that.

One thing I'm curious about is can you still use it if the seam is more narrow than a 5/8" ?

I have been thinking I’d have to get a serger machine then I started looking how to adapt my sewing machine to a serger so to speak and poof I fortune a side cutter off of Ali express but I’m wondering if I should by extra blades for it
