I did Uber/lyft while in college. I worked the super early morning shift. Moved people from the airport to their hotels and vice versa. Made great money with the business traveler
I currently attend a uni with similar degrees under different names, hearing ways to utilize the skills and studies was really interesting and helpful!
am not your audience i guess ... long graduated ... but i love the honesty and sincerity about the process of what it takes to get what you want 👍 understand there's a lot of grind ... grind is essential ... so the "why" has to be intrinsic and burning ... awesome sharing there ! .
Thank you so much☺️ Ahh, but I hope this video doesn’t lead people to follow the toxic hustle culture🤧 Hope you don’t stress yourself out🙏🏼 One thing I would tell myself back when I first started working (and was overwhelmed) is: do what you enjoy and enjoy the process🤍
@@NicoleBernadetteoh I see, don't worry i wont :) as a student balancing out life and school can be challenging damn especially when it comes down too paying things. I hope people take this video in as there are many alternative ways on helping financially instead of crazy hustle life. Also expressing there talents and benefiting from them instead of going to waste
Hi Nicole! I am Catherine, a high school student :) I have been watching your videos for a long time, and really love how genuine, soothing, and inspiring you are! NUS is also my dream university, I am thinking to apply to its English Literature major! would you mind sharing more on applying to NUS and some general tips you would give to highschool students? Thank you so much!!!
I’ve got a video coming out tonight where I talk about where I get my freelance gigs! As for contracts, I’m still learning all of that - so far it’s been mostly using invoices/billing/quotes and reading contracts that clients have sent over. But I definitely want to start doing up my own contracts to protect myself and make sure I get paid hahaha👍🏼
Hi there! Thanks so much🙏🏼 I happened to find the instructing gig on glints! But I think there are instructing/tutoring/teaching gigs being posted on most job-seeking platforms like indeed and LinkedIn too☺️
Hi I am a real estate agent and I've hired my grandaughter to assist us with social media, she is designing videos and posts that I will post, I have no idea how much to pay her for her efforts, do you have a suggestion? By the project by the hour? $20 $40 $50 or less or more? Thank you so much, you are an inspiration.
Thank you so much! That’s a great question - I’ll probably make a “How to make a UI/UX Design Portfolio” video of sorts but briefly, I think it’s a collective effort over the years. Thankfully I studied Information Technology in polytechnic so I was exposed to user interfaces and designs through projects - but a lot of what I learned for UI/UX design was self-taught. I think it helps to learn a prototyping software like Figma or Adobe XD and start learning design principles and the design process. Then just start designing things with product design prompts, or redesigning existing apps/websites that you think can be improved! The idea of self-learning applies to any freelancing job, even teaching or video editing☺️ Hope this helps!!🙌🏼
hello! thank you for the very helpful advice/tips! where did you apply for freelance jobs? i am trying to get into freelance video/photo editing but i have no idea where to apply so that people can find me! do you have any links!
I’ve got a video coming out tonight whee I talk about where I get my freelance gigs! I talked about it for UI/UX Design but honestly it’s roughly the same for other skills and gigs☺️👍🏼
Hi can you share more on how did u get into ui/ux design like which platform do u use like wordpress or smth else. Lastly how did u market yourself out there to get clients? Would be very helpful if u can answer this thanks.
Yes, I did all this in a month haha😅 I sacrificed a lot of other things I guess, and I learned a lot about my working style, when I’m most productive, how to my time, etc.👍🏼
haha why do you sound like you're going to be a Digital Nomad or Financial Agent =XX Heh I had that revelation about finances as well. To think about it another way, you're not worshipping money but mastering it so that it doesn't control you =))
I might make a video on this since a few people have asked☺️ But briefly, I guess it really helps to have a portfolio - so that when an opportunity presents itself, you’re ready👍🏼 I got my first gig on fiverr and you can also look at upwork and the usual job portals like indeed and glints☺️ Will elaborate in a future video!☺️
