Personally I prefer the Sideshow version, though both are great. Sideshow seems to nail the essence of the characters better.

I've spent a good amount of time trying to decide between these two at the end of 2019. In the end, I decided to go for the SS Colossus. Seeing them now side by side, I think they're both winners. Each statue has its own features and aspects that make it better than the other. You can't go wrong with either.

The most disputed battle I have seen to date throughout my life as a collector. On one side, a metallic giant with elongated arms and legs and a small head to the hero look even taller (Daniel Bel is a genius), on the other side, a meticulous work of intricate muscle definition, painting and fabulous textures. Wow. XM wins by a hair. We want a second round where we can see the pieces from other viewing angles. We want today !!!.

@@StatueBossProductions Fierce dispute. I saw it on the biggest TV here at home, and I had to sit very close to the screen to be sure of my vote. SS is beautiful, imposing, but on the other side, there is a masterpiece in painting and details of a musculature carved in organic steel. XM won.

Love both pieces. The XM version has the best pose, but I'm going with the SS one. Fits with the Rogue and Gambit pieces plus I can't say no to a Daniel Bel sculpt.

Thanks for the comparison bud, it's amazing to see how different they actually are. For me the SS one has the better pose and anatomy. That xm piece does look good too and I appreciate the action pose.

Thanks for the side by side video.. the XM is an excellent statue , but my vote is for SS . I like the colors and the design better, PLUS! I have the Sideshow one :)

Daniel Bel is one of my favorite sculptors and I like the SS Version, but if I could choose one of them, I'd pick the XM. I prefer how the colors pop more, the pose, the story it tells, base, and it has more presence. Most importantly, I think the XM Version captures the character of Colossus better.

now that you mention the issue with the feet..the sideshow one does look like he is wearing ronald mcdonald shoes...they seem to long.. lol

I am having a real problem deciding. I need a Colossus and dont know which one to get. Money is not a problem, i just want a good representation of the Big C in my collection. I dont like the XM feet but i love its action pose. I like the size.of of the SS but i hate his subdued nature. I am at a lost

No...I decided to cancel mine. Having two Colossus made me realize I really do not need two Gambits, lol. But, I do have a friend's SS Gambit on loan, I just need to find time to review it!

great comparison mate, they are both great but I don't think either of these is the definitive Colossus. Had the SS been more dynamic it could have been potentially

i like SS simple classic semi museum post that colossus stoic look on him plus will fit with any xmen line SS or XM proportions are also balance

Detail is better on XM but comic version always win. If you have the SSC Ex, Lockheed takes it to the next level especially if you have the juggernaut EX maquette. Your basically getting another statue and don’t have to buy another Kittypride statue.

I love comic version but I don’t like my statues look flat with no detail like sideshow I prefer comic and a little bit of realistic but it depends on the taste of the person

I prefer the SIDESHOW, simple, does not take up too much space, and in its simple pose gives off a magnificent presence, a refined side, an application of sublime organic paint, without doing too much, ~~~~ the dynamic Xm, but the facial expression, personally does not pass for me, a big base, therefore difficult to put in a display, I find that Xm has done too much on this statue "" always more does not mean better .... simplicity and subtlety can make a big difference .... and be efficient without overdoing it ... ~~ I had plenty of money to buy the Xm easily, but even if it's XM .... it doesn't doesn't mean they're the best ... so my choice is Sideshow.

I love detail whant detail for my statues that’s why I pay a lot doesn’t matter is xm ss prime 1 love the detail that can make the statue look as is real don’t like simple and flat things ... and also flat and more comic accurate with not texture doesn’t mean I’d better lol 😂

Both are great. I love different aspects of each. The thing that bugs me most about the XM version are the unnecessary details in the suit. His outfit looks like he tried on Iron Man's suit. I mean, wtf are the ridges in his shirt? Completely nonsensical. But his face, hands, and pose are excellent.

The XM Colossus is noticeably bigger and bulkier, but, based on your other comments, it seems like you have your mind made up. That's fine, the Sideshow Colossus is really nice.

@@StatueBossProductions lol Then you would be mistaken. I like the action pose better but I don't collect these things. My collecting was in the 80s and it was just the comics. i been tempted but it's just too crazy having these in a small NYC apt. collecting dust. Appreciation would wane in a couple of weeks if I collected these things. cheers.

When will XM give up on the random brick work and girders? Their bases are so lack luster, i much prefer the brighter danger room bases of Sideshow...the XM version of many X Men characters just look so by the book when it comes to bases, which is weird to say because the magneto throne is on eof th ebest X bases ever...and then when you factor in price too...I'd love XM to start thinking outside the box like Sideshow with their Domino base...XM details also i find them overwhelming, almost making the piece look "dirty", i have the same problem with the new Thanos/Death they did too...just details for no reason...

Well, I would guess that to keep things consistent, XM will continue with a similar theme for future X-Men they produce. A lot of collectors want that diorama feel of similar themed bases. I also love Domino, one of my favourite statues recently. Excellent design. But, her base also makes her an outlier in the Sideshow X-Men line...sentinel bases, snow bases, danger room bases...where does the slot machine fit?

Its pretty sad these days you can't even give your honest opinion without hurting people's feelings. Choosing to not compare to 2 heads i hand will tell everyone about the size comparison. Xm is way bigger. ss head was VERY undersized. I have both also and there is a clear winner here. Xm colossus for sure. Only people that disagree are people that cannot afford xm or cannot get their hands on xm colossus. With only a 450 edition size for xm. Ss colossus is very plain and undersized, boring, flat paint job. Cartoon looking. The xm style is realistic. If people can't have it they will bash it.. small feet ? Lol come on now..
