@@JustN0tMe Hard to say. ATL definitely holds it down, and it has the US's best player. But NY has always been strong and has many top level players like GM and Joey Fury (though he's located in Buffalo really). I'd argue that NorCal and SoCal may actually have the largest and best general pool of talent though. Like there are MANY high level players, but not so many top-top level players (except for Jimmy J).

Crazy how i've got nearly 1000 hours in tekken 7, yet it's never occurred to me to think about side stepping as being kinda like backdashing. I'm always trying to sidestep particular moves at specific times, whereas I should be using it as a general defensive strategy. Great video!

Can you make a video on proper parrying? Like yeah lows but also jin or leo parrys or dragonov. Like how and when to apply them
@mmmk6322
@mmmk6322 4 года назад
Much easier to use these parries as a way to block retaliation. It depends on the parry but it usually activates at the 3 frame and works for 3 frames. This all means that moves at -7 are great for parries cause they work to counter jabs, magic four, and i13 mids.
@aZ1d
@aZ1d 4 года назад
Proper parrying is more about getting a good read on your opponent, usually with frame traps (you do a safe attack, check out how the opp retaliates and counter correctly) or if you notice a pattern in the player. It can be very effective but it also comes with a risk of getting launched if they notice you do it every time after said move, its all mindgames and reads.

I believe I can help some that might not get the distance part I will use Bryan as an example His d3 leaves the opponent close on hit and his d4 pushes the opponent away on hit If you want to move and see if the opponent whiffs, its better for you to SS after d3 and backdash after d4 If you try to backdash after d3, you most likely will get hit because the backdash wont create enough space for a whiff and in the d4 situation you can get hit(sidestepping) because in Tekken, theres a bunch of attacks that get better tracking if their expanded hitbox is longer(e.g Noctis Ora) TL,DR Sidestep when youre closer Backdash when theres some space Hope it helped👍

It drives me crazy when I know what direction to step something and I get hit by it anyway. That, and getting hit by the end of string after I've stepped the first two or three parts of it. It's so frustrating when people will step my jabs at near point blank range, but I can't seem to step a goddamn df+1 even when I actually know it's coming. I don't even bother trying to launch someone after a sidestep because it never works when I try it. I'm going to try that sidestep after a roll thing and I'm probably going to get murdered for it.
@samiambl917
@samiambl917 4 года назад
the important point is that you shouldn't step or sidewalk for too long that's why anakin says that you need to sidestep and guard, not just fully sidewalk expecting you will get a great whiff to punish. you can't predict what the opponent will do most of the time, so it is a case of moving sideways and guarding hoping for a whiff and if you don't get a whiff, you still block the attack (you can get clipped by an attack sometimes tho because no one is perfect) OR if you do get a whiff, you can try to punish it with safe moves, if you couldn't punish your opponent despite the whiff, it is okay, everyone is learning and eventually you get better at confirming a whiff quickly for a punish. While in neutral, start from sidesteps (or a mini side-walk) into guarding , see what the opponent does and go from there and mix stuff up in the process too to keep you opponent guessing as well and not just you.

@ricardofunes9407
@ricardofunes9407 4 года назад
Bet Anakin can do a better job than i do, but King main here. I've gotten good at breaking throws just by seeing them, but i feel you. The first tip, is trying to read the throws, if you know they are coming, you can react pretty nicely to them. Just like snake edge. The second tip is at least identify the 2 break and the 1+2. The 2 break is weird but obvious if remember it nicely. 1+2 is always the weird one, the "hard to see*" one from my perspective, so spam 1+2 when seeing it. The third tip is that you have more time to break than what you think, so don't spam instanly, try to check the throw and spam whatever you think it was. Normal throws are easy to break cause 1 and 2 break them. Also, Shining Wizard is 1+2, Giant Swing is 1, Crouch dash into grab is either 1 or 2, unless they do Crouch dash into other stuff, but that's prolevel. Remember to conmit to one button when spamming. Throws are like snake edges, easy to break when ready and punishable by crouching. Just don't crouch too often with King Grab Spammers. Marduk? Well, even JDCR had a difficult time breaking them, so i don't, tackle is hard stuff.

@samataryusuf3936
@samataryusuf3936 4 года назад
If you do too many backdashes after the sidestep you'll probably be out of range for the whiff punish. Sidestep backdash and hold back keeps you safe from homing moves, and keeps you in range if they whiff a linear one hit move.
@TheDiamondSkye
@TheDiamondSkye 4 года назад
The idea is step block. You can also buffer backdash after step block and yes, you can backdash cancel after a backdash. Usually if you're close range, you won't have the option to sidestep backdash, so sidestep block is safer.

@ramireini

You should practice breaking throws in practice mode. You can do it for 10 - 15 minutes at the start of your session for example. If you keep doing that then you'll get better at it.
@jvostudio
@jvostudio 4 года назад
Rami Reini Yea but my problem with practice mode is i will always expect a throw coming even if its randomised. In an actual match i always freeze when im grabbed even though i knew the break
@Mugen123456789
@Mugen123456789 4 года назад
@@jvostudio my way around that was just focusing on reacting to the animation. You are doing this to build your subconscious reaction timing. Yes you might know what grab it is but you're reacting late that's the issue to grind out. After several grab tech drills I'm starting to break them without thinking about it. Now i have to deal with 1+2 grabs that look like 1 grabs -_-'
@TheDiamondSkye
@TheDiamondSkye 4 года назад
There's really no way to really practice throwing in a real match because the randomness isn't there in full effect. You can mix block strings and throws into the recordings in practice mode, but that's that is. I think that really paying attention to the limbs helps a lot in your overall reaction timing
