@@nicolasbergeron9228 I'm a penguins fan I watch Lemieux in his last 3 years and I've watched many highlights of him but the goalies are not as good and as big back then not to mention the small equipment they used and theres more styles today butterfly stand up hybrid Lemieux and Gretzky are amazing but I'm looking at the skill levels of todays superstar Crosby malkin ovi McDavid and their skill alone matches up to the all time greats malkin plays just like Lemieux and jagr Crosby just like Gretzky

Most would agree that yazermsn and messier would had great careers regardless, but most would also agree that they would have had anymore than 1,400 points, its just how it would be !! The game has evolved to bigger and better goalies !! Like i said tho they still would have had hof careers, but not any better than crosby or nate !!

Oh No Best player in history? That's a funny joke. If Crosby played in the 80's he would get destroyed. He got destroyed in todays era a few times because he couldn't keep his head up, how would he have survived the bloodbath that was the eighties? Gretzky had a lot of backup, but he also had his head up and was aware at all times. Ovechkin and McDavid would survive the eighties, as Ovechkin is a hulk of a man and McDavid has the awareness to always have his head up and on a swivel, unlike concussion "Eric Lindros" Crosby.

vickyv85 this is by far the most flawed argument. Yes, ovi has has more talent in terms of size and strength and is the best goal scorer arguably ever. But sid is by far the better ‘hockey’ player. The rink is 85x200ft, and a highlight reel with clips selected by one individual that only capture a few moments of ones career is hardly a good way to judge.

Just watching highlights doesn't mean Jack shit! Crosby is probably the most complete player to ever step on the ice. Not to mention he has more over all points then ovi in over 100 less games.
