When I was a kid I was obsessed with Michael Jackson and his band and dancers, but especially with Miss Siedah's voice, which is so velvety and unique and she is a very underrated artist. Of course, when I was a kid in the 90s I had no idea her name was Siedah. In fact I found out many many years later. And what I most love about her is that our birthdays are two days apart (me 22 and her 24 of June) ❤
My friend Ricky recorded and toured with Siedah and Michael Jackson. While in LA he brought me to meet Quincey. A moment. I shall never forget. This is another simply wonderful interview. Dom is a dear friend and he embroiders pure music passion
He’s right, Siedah is truly the wonder behind many a legend. I enjoyed their conversation better than a movie. Siedah. You got the “It” factor. You are the voice, the humor, the enthusiasm and joy. Mostly, you are a storyteller. I’m now scanning YT looking for more stories that you tell, because you take the listener with you. I adore you. I adore your relationship with Michael Jackson stories the best! Thank you.
Oh my goodness, this lady is a gem! What in the world !!? Seidah is beautiful, charming and talented. Her diction is fabulous and that character Trait of quick changes is endearing. Love this woman. Thank you for this interview. I never could have been more entertained. Love Love this knowledge base in the form of a fabulous individual. Seidah is really a wonderful professional. When I first saw her in a Michael Jackson's concert, I instantly fell in love with their performance. When I listened to her singing for the first time, I instantly fell in love with her voice. As I see her interview now, I am instantly being fallen in love with her personality and her way of entertaining people. She is simply an awesome singer and person!
man, i just love the enthusiasm..the energy and the way she tells her stories. and I LOVE her involvement in the Brand New Heavies on their 1997 album, Shelter. wish she had worked with them more.
I love this woman! When I 1st heard her on "Don't look any Further back in 1984.' I was INSTANTLY a fan. She's so damn interesting & one of my top 10 female singers
I became a “mini fan” when I heard her track “Do You Want It Right Now.” I only found out about her writing and collaborating chops in recent years. What a masterful talent!
I'm pretty sure I've listened to/watched every interview Siedah has ever given (I'm a HUGE FAN of her work), and this interview is my favourite, and one I keep coming back to, because it really encapsulates so much of her career. I was fortunate enough to meet her when she hosted an International Women's Day event at the African American Museum in LA, in 2011 (or 12). As a budding lyricist she had long been my idol. I dreamed for years of possibly writing a single lyric that was as visually evocative and moving as: "A willow deeply scarred. Somebody's broken heart -- And a washed-out dream. They follow the pattern of the wind you see, 'cause they got no place to be - That's why I'm starting with me ... " It's a perfect lyric. You can see it, you can feel it in equally powerful measure! Anyway, outside of meeting Sidney Poitier in New York years earlier, it was a moment in which I felt completely tongue-tied. I couldn't bring myself to talk about songwriting, other than how much I admired hers. LOL! I was struggling to keep my 'telephone operator' cool. We ended up talking about our mutual love of purses (she was designing a line of GORGEOUS ones at the time), and she was just truly lovely to me. It's a moment I've never forgotten. She deserves every ounce of success she's ever achieved. A great, great lady. A queen!
I'm a huge fan of Dom's interviews. The Interviews Dom does breathe so much insight, thought and knowledge into the process and aspects of musicians as a whole body of fantastic art, with respect to their profession and all the experiences. God Bless You Dom! Keep groovin' the passion! 🎶🥁😎David Curtis
Dammit! You should make a autobiography with a voice "patch",some audio speaking book but sorry Sediah.,Michael is my husband,j just to see the jackson five from the Apollo theater in 1970, and I'm.a singer director. Screenwriter and manager.
Siedah, hope you see this message, my friend... You are a flat out Inspiration! I wish I could write songs as well as you do! Love your clothing also xoxo
She is full of so much positiveness N strength N beauty. I’ve always felt her powerful N her relationship with Yahweh her spirit is before her before she arrives. God made her natural N enhanced her more. She is so authentic I can’t help but praise her so much as a woman and a woman of color she’s just powerful N modest when she is at the top with you. She has never been concerned about being there when she has always been there through her faith N relationship with Yahweh.
Mark Twain said "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story, unless you can't think of anything better.", Willie Nelson may have repeated it, as have many others.
I hate it when some voice trainers mess up their students voice. That’s how Julie Andrews lost her voice. Vocal trainers can get sued for bad training.
May Jehovah...The Most High God In Heaven Bless You Siedah...For You And Michael Jackson Changed The Global World With The Creativity Behind The Song, Man In The Mirror.
That Dennis Edwards record and the way it happened was HUGE and the interviewer says “So how’d you meet Quincy”👀…ummm, dude did you hear her say that she was put in the place of the great Chaka Khan on the record. Bask in that for a moment.
Still want my dream date with Siedah:-). Always thought she was beautiful, intelligent, and well-spoken. Post watch: This was an OUTSTANDING interview! I have to share it and help get this to 10k at least. Business of music; love of music; collaboration; mentorship - it's all in there.
don't look any further with dennis should have been a mega hit... but in entertainment it's all about marketing... siedah was a honey... serious honey... and serious talent....

When 3 large black men show up at your door and tell you to sign you do....laugh laugh. I wonder if that would be as well received if thom Yorke used that joke.
