Thanks for watching. I hope you found this fun and informative. The new airport is not without challenges, but it's going to be great! I forgot to mention that there are drinking water dispensers near the toilets, and there are accessible toilets as well.
I viewed the post 3 X Before asking , I couldn't see anything . I didn't know if the conditions were like that of the VIP Lounge , not quite completed . Hopefully all will work - out well . . .👋. . 👋
True, Patience will be the #1 virtue for everyone, once one embraces the said value its just a waiting game at the end of the day, worse things could happen.
Never thought i could get second hand excited for a new high way😂. Also, I could not figure out when jeremy was being serious or not, like when he said claire need to switch out her knives😂
Cracking video! Loved the dual views and so good to see you both in front of the camera too! There will be people grinding and welding in that place for the next 20 years! What a fun day out!!
I don't have a sense of how many there are, and it's very fluid, too. Some people stay here several months out of each year. Easily hundreds, possibly more....
It was only pretend. This was a rehearsal ahead of the official opening of the airport. As long as you aren't looting from the temples (which of course you wouldn't!) you will be fine. Thanks for watching.
Watching this as I'm commenting. 😊 Amazing video!! So professional. The way you both film & give information is truly the best. Thank you for all your hard work with these. Can't wait to fly!! Who is the kitty at the end? 🐾 ❤
Thanks so much! 😊 We have to get another DJI pocket as rhe audio is far better than the GoPro. The kitty at the end is from a Wat that we filmed when we first started Vlogging.
Thank you for showing this, love you guys. Jeremy is quite entertaining 😂. The airport looks beautiful, I am so proud of our people. I will get to use it soon, will be visiting this spring, can’t wait.
@@ForRiel tuk tuks could do it. I’ve been a fair way in tuk tuks through the years. To Beng Mealea several times ( the back roads to Beng Mealea are delightful past small villages.)and also the furthest floating village of the 3 a couple of times
I think it's more that they're not allowed within the confines of the airport. You're right about the distance as Beng Mealea is a little further north of the airport.
Hi Jeremy & Claire 😊 , thanks for taking us along on your airport adventure ✈, such a huge facility 😯, hopefully like most things in life , it will all come together somehow 🙏, safe travels everyone , Peace
This is a great help! I was wondering what the transport options would be. I'm sorry you lost your international smuggling operation. I hope Jeremy is healing nicely.
Jeremy is still amazed how seriously they took the simulation 🤣😲 We did talk with a person about a larger bus that transported you to a centralised aera then Tuktuk from there.
Hi Claire and Jeremy, Great video once again, I will be at the Airport on the 31st of October. I hope my suitcase doesn’t get searched they will find a couple of tins of Spam 🤣🤣 Looking forward to meeting you both, I am staying at the Orientation Lodge for 7 nights, I hope you will come over for a swim and a few drinks to celebrate. I have met a lady online Bee is from Siem Reap so she can show me the sights. Regards Joe.
Hi Claire, Tell me if you want me to bring something over for you that you miss and can’t get in Siem Reap. Like veggie mite or anything I will bring over for you ❤️
Beautiful mountains…didn’t think SR have mountains… not so far from town… Taiwan, Soul, Korea, and other large cities around the world have similar distances as they expand..
A much deserved new airport for Cambodia. Its current airport serving Phnom Penh and Siem Reap areas is near the famed Angkor Wat ruins which put a strain on the enivornment
Jeremy and Claire. Thank you for the review. I like the fact that the architecture is Khmer inspired. The airport looks to have been designed with growth in mind. I hope the transfer situation is properly organised.
With nearly an hour commute to the airport I don’t think it would be worth it to take the flight to pp rather than the bus especially with the $12.50 charge. I would imagine their most popular flights will be to Bangkok, Saigon, and Hanoi.
Hey guys thanx for this! I just booked a visa run today for bkk next week and tuk tuk drivers are telling me $20-$25 to the airport. Any info on overnight parking my scooter there?
Thanks for being the tour guides for us! Man, I can’t get over the ugly white supporting poles going up to the roof! They look like cheap PVC pipes! Need to paint them grey so they don’t stand out sooo much.
@@ForRiel do the white supporting poles and beams look bad to you in person? I have been thinking that if they were covered with wooden veneers it may give it a more natural and rich appearance and less industrial.
It looks really good. They've done a great job. It will be interesting to see what food outlets are available, and how smooth the transition is for VOA. Definitely a new business venture for anyone who wants to start up a shuttle service 😉 Thanks for the vid 🙏 I love Cambodia. I can't wait to return again.
That information was not available when we made this video. Watch this one if you can be bothered: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ipmJEFblV80.htmlsi=sfVVK1oMZZTu-wX_
Left in September before the new airport was opened. It is still surreal to see only one or two planes in the entire Siem Reap airport at times. Cambodia and its people are so genuine and good natured. Long live the 'Golden Temple!'
@ForRiel What time did that flight arrive? The SAI arrivals board on Flightradar24 showed the Bangkok Airways flight as being the first. Anyway, were there any celebrations for the first arrival? Now waiting for the new Phnom Penh airport to open, I might go there for that one.
Anyone know how the visa process is landing at the new airport? I thought it might be safer to get an evisa but they don’t have the new Siem Reap airport as an option for location of entry LoL
It's under the Build Operate Transfer scheme so Cambodia will eventually get a free Airport at the end. We actually rode out to a temple near there on the new airport road. The road alone is a game changer for thousands of people in villages in that area. Eventually the Airport will be expanded to take larger aircraft that the smaller one couldn't.
Hi Claire/Jeremy, Phnom Penh Post has it opening officially on 1st December 2023....??🤔🤔 Doesn't look like it twill be handling many flights from the 16th October, surely?? I'm back there on 15th Nov🙂🙂🇰🇭
Hi. Big smile on my face, i really love this video. The airport looks very nice and i look forward to see it for real i january. Take care and have a good time over there.
Yes thanks guys. I received an email from Lufthansa yesterday that the Singapore - Siem Riep section of my flight next year was canceled and now re-booked to land at the new Siem Riep International airport. I was kinda expecting that so all good. Looks nice and top drawer that they do these test runs and shows a pride in wanting to feel good and customers feel good arriving and departing. What a lovely day as well, late August here in Hamburg so grey raining dismal weather around 12°c. I wont miss this at all :o)
Thanks so much for a very informative video on the new airport will definitely be sharing the heck out of it compulsory viewing for anyone coming to Siem Reap ❤
This randomly appeared on my feed, and coincidentally, ill be taking a flight from this new airport next week lol I was supposed to fly out from REP but they changed the departure airport to SAI instead, so this video was nicely informative. My only concern is why the airport so far, and do you know of any way to get from the city to the airport?
Hi, thanks for watching. We made another video that contains info about transfers and SIM cards: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ipmJEFblV80.html
Out with the old in with the new always looking forward to the future.everything looks so beautiful and the sky are so blue thanks Claire and Jeremy you have a ❤ for Cambodia 😻
What a fun day. I am glad they used the steep Khmer roof lines, really makes the place special. I keep dreaming of an electric train whizzing out from Siem Reap. Cheers
You would think they would improve the road simultaneously while building the airport, but maybe that would make too much sense. Anyway, the two of you were very lucky to see SAI before it opens! I'm envious :) It was interesting how they just let you wander about looking around. Thanks for the sneak peak!
The new road (Expressway) down to route 6 was part of the Chinese airport contract. Apparently the government will connect road 60 to the new Expressway instead of using existing road 6 which is very narrow and busy around Bakong.
I'm living in Toowoomba Australia and am looking at moving overseas soon. It will be me and my wife. We have been to Cambodia twice and love it but we are not sure about how to go about things and what the best long term visa would be. Is there anyone you can recommend?
@@dimitar297I was in Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan ( comparable distances) - very expensive … I took a van from Phuket airport but it stopped at a small mall. They forced us to get off to buy something… They get you one way or the other…
