I remember this phone back then it's not very popular and was tagged as a 6600 copy with weird keypad layout but it's the magic of that era back then. As MrMobile put it: back "when phones were fun".
Yes, when phones were truly fun and soap bars with different names. Phones today are super boring. It was basically a Nokia 6600 copy but it had something special of it's own. What beautiful memories. Thank you for watching my video.
@@MrFloryn88 You're welcome! I've been literally looking for this phone on the internet and I was able to find it by searching '6600 look alike'. That's true, the phones of today are just lifeless, they don't spark the same excitement as I did when phone manufacturers were still innovative and creative in the design department. Although they're now trying to recreate clamshell/folding design to touchscreen phones nowadays, it's still has its birth pains and maybe it would take them a year or 2 to perfect it.
i remember depating between this and Nokia 6600. but ultimately Nokia 6600 won. i don't really recall what was the biggest reason for the Nokia 6600 winning for me. after owning Nokia 3650 (my first ever smartphone) i cant say that the numbad on this would have been too weird to me. most likely just that the Nokia 6600 was running newer Symbian version.
@@MrFloryn88 yeah and i live in Finland so there was that bit of patriotism there too. but i would say that the biggest thing was the fact that xs1 had s60 6.1 1st edition while nokia 6600 was running s6 7.0 second edition. app compatibility was largely the same between the two versions of s60, as only the s60 3rd edition that came later would break the compatibility streak. but the user experience between the two s60 versions were wide enough, that 6600 come on top. even tough it had slower 104mhz arm cpu and that sx1 had 120mhz cpu on it. it might sound like a little difference, but it was enough that mega drive/genesis emulator Picodrive could run with sound at full speed on sx1. but only way to get decent speeds out of Picodrive on nokia 6600 was to turn off sound emulation completely. also even tough sx1 isn't ugly or anything, in fact i would say that it looks good enough that it wouldn't look weird if it popped out of someones business suit pocket. but to me Nokia 6600 has always have that professional look to it.
I loved this phone. took me a week to write fast and properly. :) and no one want to borrow it for sending an sms as they can not use it :) very very nice looking phones I like them back in the time the phones had style not just a flat black block.
Yes indeed. They had a lot of style and you could choose the style that it would fit you. I never owned this one when it was brand new but I saw it at someone and I found it to be super strange.
Dude, how come you don´t know Mozzies game!? You missed a lot back then. It was one of AR games. Where you shoot mosquitoes, but you need to open camera for that. It was really something new back then. I remember playing similar game on Nokia, I forgot the model, it was kinda U shaped. But instead of mosquitoes, you had to kill the bees. But anyway thank you for this video. This phone is perfectly good condition, keep it that way. This is history :D Oh yeah, here is one suggestion. If there is possibility to record video of you playing Mozzies.
I never played the game back then because I didn't had the phone when it was new, it was too expensive and now I seldom have time for my old phones. As you can see, I haven't posted a new video in years. Thank you for watching my video, I really appreciate it and feel free to watch the others on my channel also.
@@MrFloryn88 why you stopped making these videos? Make some short videos, if you still have this phone, make video of this game. Also you can make video about siemens ringtones. You will not get much views from that, at least you are making for us nostalgic people. New generation will not have memories about the phones like we had.
@@SomeUnremarkableGuy because I don't have to much free time anymore and the phones are getting more and more harder to find and very expensive. I do this out of my own pocket, RU-vid doesn't pay me a single dime. Check all of my videos and your nostalgia will kill you. I am currently waiting for a Nokia 6230i to arrive but it's in super bad connection. Hope I can restore it and make a vide of it. I have made a video of this phones ringtones.
I have a few questions if you don't mind. Do you store your phones with the battery inside or outside? How often do you charge them? Also do you store them in plastic bags or just how do you store them ? Do you have an Instagram?
It was a breath of fresh air for the Siemens phones, but that move to Symbian was too little-too late. Siemens was loosing too much money in their mobile phone division already, and that's why Siemens decided to close it. Before closing it they tried to partner with Benq under the brand name Benq-Siemens, but this attempt ended in failure. Oh and the Benq-Siemens phones were crap too :)
