I am 76 and been playing my guitar and banjo since the 1960s. I am so happy that Sierra is reappraising the old tunes and songs, and keeping the old bluegrass so alive. I am old enough to say your playing is enhanced by your lovely smile, and beautiful face. Thanks from Australia.

I listened to this song (or should I say “sawng”?) dozens of times trying to figure it out on my violin and I never realized there was such a thing as split tuning for mandolin until now. So cool!!!!!🤩🤠

What I really love about this kid is that there isn't a single fret on that instrument that's safe! If I were that old Gibson, I'd take a good deep breath when I saw her coming.

The point you made about the access ability on you tube is spot on. Being able to get the voicings right, priceless. This is the age of stringed enlightenment. I remember having to learn songs by picking up that needle above the turntable and painstakingly figure out the chords etc.

Head spinning. My grandfather was a player in the Alaskan Gold Rush. Mandolin, banjo and fiddle were his way to riches playing the dance halls and brothels. I remember him when you play.

When you’re are just checking things out with different tunings you come with some very nice riffs. Just found your channel and loving it.

saw Sierra Hull in Maryland on Valentines Day weekend. She is a freakin beast. I’m sitting there wondering how the hell am I just learning about her????? Crazy amazing talent. And such a powerhouse of a voice. The world needs to HEAR more of this woman. I went at the Strathmore to see the great Jake Shimabukuro. And was blessed to hear Sierra Hull.

I remember the first time I met you Sierra, in St. Jo Missouri, you gave me a hug and signed my pickguard I'd just pulled off the new mando I'd recently bought. I had been carrying it around and jammin a bit, when Danny from the Grasscals walked up and asked me if I knew "Get Up John," he was gonna invite me up to jam with the band, but sadly I had not worked it up. That night when I went home I discovered that split tuning and I started workin that sucker up so if the opportunity ever presented itself again, I wouldn't have to let it slip on by. Great tune, and as always I'm just impressed by your clear and perfect tone with the fluidity of your fingers and pick. Absolutely stunning.
