A community in Sierra Leone has taken a diamond mining company to court.
Residents of Koidu say the government failed to protect them when it handed over their land to Octea mining company.
While some families have been moved to alternative accommodation, hundreds more vow to fight their eviction.

this is terrible just terrible , africa again be taken advantage of by outsiders BUT it is their own goveronment and people who are alowing it because they are corrupt and getting rich , same story in nigeria and other countries,corrupt president and police etc.....i send best wishes to all the suffering people and wish the people of sierra leone to prevail and happiness and prosperity to come

You can't blame the companies it's the government that is elected as spoke person for the people they have to put laws in place to see that the people who owns the land don't suffer at the hands of the strangers and that they are garanteed Jobs and compensation to build somewhere else. That is what good government does look after your people's interest before any other . Learn from Namibia and there deal with the companies mining there and use the strategies that benefits S/L.

Companies BRIBE government officials and people of importance. They are 'working' together. You CAN blame the companies... why, are you working for BSGR?!
