Sig Is Annoyed That Mandy Shared Information | Deadliest Catch 

I like how she pretends to not know what is going on, and even when sig's caught on she still wont really tell him what happened instead she let jake try and fend for himself when she practically set him up for a scolding

I remember earlier seasons, when Sig would just dangle that carrot (to captain the Northwestern aka NW) in front of Jake's face. So Jake did all he needed to get certifiedand, trained, and licensed, so he could captain the NW. Sig told Jake he needed to earn it, that they weren't just gonna give it to him. Then Sig said it wasn't gonna happen. Jake then got the opportunity to captain another boat. But got lied to by that captain to take over his boat. So Jake feeling depressed and defeated goes back to NW. Where they still treated him like shit aka green horn. Then Sig starts training Mandy to captain and take over the NW. In front of Jake's face. Where she didn't earn it. But it wasn't her fault. Her dad Sig, is a Dick. Then the opportunity came up to take over Elliott's boat, the Saga. And Jake jumped at that chance. Sig then has the audacity to say Jake betrayed him, and left them hanging. Like I said Sig, what a Dick/Asshole. From this clip, at least Mandy sees the big picture and future. Realizing if she's honest and helpful, everyone will have her back and help her out. And Sig is to ignorant to see this. Sorry for the long comment, but I hate it when someone who has showed loyalty, and hard work, and makes many sacrifices, gets lied to and screwed over. Team Jake all the way. Fuck Sig, that piece of shit. Still he's in the mindset 'it's me vs. Everyone.' Hopefully he retires soon.

You can tell the difference between the older captains from the derby days and the younger crews when it comes to sharing information. I'm not saying either way is wrong, but there's definitely more communication between the younger captains.

Sig is the greediest most deceptive guy in the "fleet" The way he has treated young Jake brings gas lighting to a whole new level. He will lie through his teeth about the concern he has for the success of all the crab boats but the only thing the man cares about is the amount of money he can make at the expense of others. The only thing sacred to Sig, the only altar he worships at is that of GREED.

I don’t get why Sig would be mad at this. Mandy gave Jake information to improve his quota and Sig was already pulling the crab in. The benefit to helping Jake (or any other captain) is that they all have a good catch and the government doesn’t consider the area over-fished and shut it down. It helps all of them. And either way, they all have quotas so it isn’t a competition of who can catch more. Also, now the NW can leverage that favor when they need something.

Don't think most of the NPCs posting comments below have any understanding of what a "fleet" is and that there are binding contracts. A bunch of old sea dogs don't just get together over a pint and decide to choose a channel to talk to each with on the seas... There's documentation, commitments, you have to sign shit, you share and split earnings and you do everything you can to improve the situation for the "fleet". Not for yourself. So if you are hitting good, you are obligated to say so. Fearing there may not be enough for all down there is a SELFISH motive. It's the ocean, there's millions of fkn fish, figure it out... Big time commercial fishers will haul in millions of pounds of fish... People just still don't understand that when humans get together and work together they accomplish far far more than they could ever do individually. Greedy people like Sig live on the outskirts of the bell curve, they either get lucky and make it big, or get super unlucky and lose it all. While those who work together tend to average towards the middle of the bell curve, they do good together, never terrible and also not like winning the lottery, BUT, everyone walks away the better. It's just simple statistics and probabilities honestly.

I like SIg, but he is one stubborn dude. I get prioritizing your crew over others, but don't say your helping when the info isn't actually going to help without the details.
