I'm a fan of both the M17 AND your channel. Great job...clear, clean, precise, smooth, and I'm not talking about the M17 yet because I don't have one yet. Your presentation is exactly what we old farts, 78 now, need when we want to understand something. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos...and just maybe getting my gnarly boney fingers on one of these backyard blinkers.
Hi Andy, Thanks a lot for the effort, time and humour put into these. Please let me know if you possess this one and if it passed the test of time and use. All the Best from Belgium
sig also built the rear black sight plate that's removable for a rmr red dot sight.I called sig and the adaptor plate will be available soon. Also the barrel is removable as part of the field stripping.
Pretty decent accuracy, concidering the barrel is removable and has a few parts that are not that tight fitted even. Going to test my own new M17 tomorrow evening. Quite excited to see how it performs.. ...... One test later... AWESOME PIECE OF WORK!!! SIG finally(!) did it! An ASP airpistol that performs like all the older models in the ASP line should have. Really good blowback. Shot sweet groups dead on aimpoint. 90 good shots from one co2 capsule. (Shot 10 more shots, bud really sloppy - just had to empty the fifth mag)..
@@JK-oj5sf Maybe yours shoot harder? That'd at least explain it. From full-blowback BB shooters I expect, and often get, 60 good shots. But these half-blowback pistols oughta do slightly better.. But apparently can differ from pistol to pistol - or mag to mag..
Went to the Northen Shooting Show in Yorkshire and nearly picked one of these up. They’d just run out of them when I came to buy one, so I got the M9A3 instead
Another great review Andy. I have one of these and love the free vape that it came with, though pellet oil is an acquired taste. Love the Co2 loading system, best on the market. However the slide rattle and barrel movement is awful, shocking considering that this actually manufactured by Sig themselves and not built by a company making them under license. There is a gent on RU-vid who has a video of mods and can supply a 3D printed bracket to cure the barrel movement for a small fee. I love the weight and feel of the gun, the fact that it’s pellet rather than bb and that Co2 loading system. Found that it shoots a little low, hopefully the mods will help with that. If you like your replicas it’s a no brainer to have one in your collection, just a little disappointed at the quality of the fit compared to my Glock 19x and my son’s Walther PPK/S which is actually my favourite of the lot.
Didn't even mention one of the main features - the removable plate at the back of the slide, precut for mounting of a red dot sight! Also the lever mechanism for CO2 cartridges has been used many times before, definitely in airsoft CO2 guns.
Good review, once again! Thank you! 😊👍 I also do not like the fact that way many replicas lack an adjustable rear sight - but if this one truly shoots this accurate on 8 metres straight-out-of-the-box, then I am very pleased. 😊 Doing a small group like that in the video, from a distance of 8 meters is more than enough to say that this is an accurate replica pistol. I mostly shoot from 6 meters myself and only shoot from further away with pistols like the UX Desert Eagle or the Walther CP88 Competition. I do hope my upcoming M17 also will be as accurately on aimpoint as this one was. ( I do assume aiming was done at the bullseye in the video - and not deliberately corrected by aiming towards either side of the target center.)
Looks like a fun pistol. But got to say I prefer the pellet version of the x5. Same belt thread feed for the mag. But separate co2 with a lever in the handle .
I was U.S. Air Force Security Forces and we still carried the Beretta M9's however this Replica Sig Sauer M17 newly issued U.S. Military Pistol is awesome great review AAR OnAir reviews! now i want exactly this!!
Another great video Andy, I wish you’d do more than 1 a week! Great format, the only downside is you’re costing me a ton of cash and I’m running out of space to store them all! What’s the beast of a gun in the background?!?!
I am convinced about all the innovations Sig Sauer has designed into this version of Sig Sauer M17. Compared to the Sig Sauer 320 this is a machine gun apposed to flint arrows and a bow. Better snap this one or two up before CALoco bans it! E
One thing I noticed and perhaps you might confirm...I bought some copperhead bb's and the pistol I got at the same time, came with regular steel ones. I noticed that quite a few of the copper ones looked chipped up or really grainy. But all of steel ones looked much more polished and smooth. I'm wondering how the chipped or grainy copperheads would affect the inside of the barrel? Seems they would or might mark up the barrel over time. Now I'm considering sticking with steel/silver only. Have you ever noticed this? What are your thoughts?

I purchased the Sig Sauer M17 replica pellett gun with the 20 round clip. It was a beautiful gun and it felt great in my hands. But 1. The slide was loose, so I couldn't aim accurately and after 11 days, the co2 seal went. I'm done with replica guns. What do you recommend that is inexpensive, but is both metal and plastic AND has a hammer that can be pulled back? Also, something over 400fps
Wondering if anyone shot BBs with this gun. The P226 manual and mag show pellet or BBs and the manual for this guns says to only shoot .177 pellet or BBs but the magazine doesn’t show the picture of pellet and BBs like the mag for the P226
and?...and?...did you get the M17 yet from the wife, Andy? :p..,,.,.,,. best christmas everrrrrrr :) hope this will be my first co2 pistol B). Greets from another Andy, Cheers!
Sometimes it's difficult to watch yr reviews as I'm laughing so hard.keep up the good work Andy. I got the m17 after seeing the review.very good pistol.looks great shoots great and I absolutely love the vape mag( I'm still laughing) u mention number of mags per cylinder so I thought I'd test that.i have managed to get 3 full mags (60 shots) from one 12 g with some drop off towards last ten shots ....and I only gave two minutes break between each mag so gun could warm back up. I also have the std p320 ( bought after seeing yr review) and @30 rounds per mag I can empty two per 12 g cylinder .so each gun will give the same number of shots .used 8.44gr jsb match diablo for both tests .big thumbs up to sig sauer and to the AAR team.
@@mountain5930 often you will find orange tips on Airsoft weapon's so my question is what calibre m17 have you got.the Sig's are replicas so if it's a .177 hard air it should come in coyote tan with no orange bits.unless they have changed it recently.
@@herbb8547 hey check whether yr pellets are too long.bisley magnum are the longest u can fit in the m17.i never have any jamming so maybe yr doin something not quite right.some airguns can be pellet fussy.the bisleys will not fit in my gamo p25 and it jams as a result so i use flat face econ 2 pellets and problem solved.hope this helps.only issue i have with m17 is lack of accuracy😁
I own this airgun, and since the barrel has rifling, to make the pellets rotate to get better accuracy, steel BBs will definitely damage it. Pellets are much softer than BBs. This airgun is NOT meant to shoot BBs. If you try to do so, it will void the 1 year warranty on it. Better wait for Sig Sauer to come up with an official BB blowback version of it (if they ever do so, hopefully).
People in the comments shall i buy this m17 or the x5??? I want the most realistic feeling in the hand weight wise (never had a pellet pistol only rifles so i have no idea)
I feel the mag is a little over engineered and the moving parts could break over time. Little disappointed the power isn't really that much over your avarage co2 pistol at all and the slide doesn't lack back when empty. Still a nice accurate pistol though.
M17 was shooting consistently low by an inch and a halt at 30 feet.. I put a plastic shim in the rear sight and now it is dead on. no 50 dollar red sight needed
Mind, I do not own the pistol (yet :-) ) but I would bet that the air escapes due to the fact that there are 2 valves into play. One on the removable magazine, where the CO2 head sits, and another inside the gun, to the point where the silver part of the magazine meets the gun's internals. Inside the first valve, there must be a stopper switch that prevents the CO2 from escaping when you remove the magazine. The small amount of CO2 escapes the moment before the stopper engages. If anyone has ever used a climbing gas canister stove, you know exactly what i mean!
Anyone get it yet? I have the Sig X Five and that thing ALWAYS jams! SO annoying! I would jump on this in a heartbeat but I'm afraid I'll walk into the same thing. Any ideas on the jamming to? I use simple lead wad cutters since there flat but still jams. I've tried other pellets too.
I absolutely love this replica M17 BUT....The only thing that I'm kind of upset with is the fact that the pellet belt inside the mag keeps jamming and about every 10 shots the trigger gets stuck in its depressed position and you kind of have to get your finger behind it and push it forward manually. I'm trying to find someone who has had these issues and what they did to fix them cause it sucks when you're focused in and on a roll in the middle of shooting targets and it jams. Very frustrating. I have a Sig MCX with the exact same type of pellet belt that goes inside the clip and haven't had any jamming issues with that one at all. If anyone has had these issues and fixed them then can you please lmk? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
The slider doesn't lock at all with or without the magazine. Reason why is it's a pellet gun it's harder to make a slider that's efficient enough to lock when loaded with pellets since their size aren't as small as round .177 caliber BB
The Gamo C-15 claims that the slide locks back when shooting either pellets or BBs. Gamo C-15 Blowback Semi-Auto C02 Pellet Air Pistol This new Gamo C-15 is a great priced semi automatic blow-back pistol. This fires either .177 steel BBs or .177 Pellets. This has a metal top slide and a plastic frame and has a full blow-back system to add extra realism. The slide also locks back on empty when there are no bbs/pellets left in the 8x2 shot magazine. This has a fully working saftey mechanism and is great fun to shoot!
Having to waste gas every time you want to reload doesn't seem like a brilliant innovation to me. How is this superior to the P320, which gives you 30 shots instead of 20, and has the magazine separate from the gas storage?
Robert Mallion ; for two very good reasons. I am in a studio and a loaded or gassed gun is not a good idea with so much tech around, and I am also demonstrating the pull of the trigger, so hence demonstrating the fitting of co2 with a safe empty co2. Thanks for your comment and for watching.
Nice review Andy. I am between m17 and the glock 17 ( pellet ). Which do you suggest???I am interested for reliability, power and accuracy. Any help?? Keep the good work
@@derek5490 i second that. The ‘old school’ ones ( cp88, m9a1, 1911 )with the cilinder and no blow back top it on all of these. But not on the fun factor however.. The desert eagle was a nice mix of the 2 but out of production for a while now.
if the blowback was functional on this gun (activates single action with lower trigger weight) , this gun would be the gun that rule them all! :) this was unfortunately a deal breaker for me.
I've had both, both great guns, but I prefer the feel of the m17. But if you aren't fixed on the sigs, I'd definitely consider the umarex sa10 (inspired by the zev oz9) Andy has a vid on the sa10
Andy can you please explain in the UK mainland ,i live in Belfast so i cant own a air/pellet gun,why no UKARA /defense ,proof of airsoft membership is needed to buy a more powerful, more dangerous, but equally RIF looking purchase other than being over 18 in the UK even a powerful air rifle capable of dispatching small pests etc .i know why i cant own one in northern Ireland but in the UK mainland a airsoft pistol is harder to own than a much more powerful air pistol of the same look and realistic appearance it would be greatly appreciated if you could explain the draconian laws because many people are being charged with strict sentencing over lack of understanding regarding FPS ,UKARA ,many thanks. Belfast airsoft player.
Good point, and you’re not the first to scratch your head around this subject. Sadly I don’t make the laws and I am just as confused as you. It would make sense to legislate on guns according to power output. Like most people, I feel guns should be legislated because they are potentially dangerous, but I also (with current governments) feel that rocking the boat around this area will probably result in even tighter control and restrictions if we start shouting too loudly. Thanks for watching.
I have one. it is the best pneumatic replica on the market. I would like to have such a battle. but I live in Rashka, and in my country a legal weapon is a stick
@@Crazyayy thats a tough one if im honest. If you love the look of it and the functionality and not bothered with the power or accuracy then go for it. As with all these types of pistol they are 10ft plinkers and no more. What i had going on in the beginning was it was jamming like a pig all the time. Found out later it was down to cheapy pellets, not only that, wider pellets jam it up easy. .177 AA fields work really nice (softer pellet) falcon .177 work good, any good quality pellet and get the thinnest skirt available. Give you an example, i pick up a 1000 Remington tyrant. 177 flatheads because they were cheap and this pistol gets through alot of pellets fast, i didint want to use expensive pellets well they were crap as feck, jam jam all the time, and i mean you dont notice at first and before you know it you have 10 pellets stuck in your barrel, believe me it will happen, its easliy fixed tho with a quick strip down and poke through. I know why its field stripable lol. So yeah if it jams its becasue it dont like the pellet your using. Other than that its a good pistol, but yeah dont expect an awful lot
@@nissan300bhp nice one mate i think im still going to buy this i shall make sure i get decent pellets and maybe some oil for the co2 i honestly doubt id be shooting it that much really compared to others, gping to start a collection so god help me if it jams that much it shall be used as a paper weight or something haha
