@@CDOES Even so, it's surprisingly difficult to find good optic reviews that convey what its like to look through the optic. Combine that with your production quality, insights, and humor and this channel is among the best. I hope you're able to keep building out a library of reviews that can act as the go to reference for optics. May take a while to get traction but if you can keep the consistency up (and your neighbors don't get tired of you creating makeshift kill houses :D), this channel should be among the handful of go-to optic channels. I would also look into doing RU-vid shorts and cleaning up the playlists. Hope to see you at Shotshow someday 🙂.
I bought one of these and absolutely love it. My only gripe, while minor, is I wish Sig would have put off clicks in between the reticle brightness settings. That way you don't have to turn the knob all the way to off instead of just turning the knob one click. Think Viper PST 2
Wow, this is the way ALL video scope reviews should be done. I've never seen one come even close to this thorough. If you don't know whether or not you want the scope by the time this is done, then you just need to get your hands on one. I, for one, am sold.
This guy is the best by far on scope reviews. Thank you for all your hard work. Helped me get a Vortex Razor 1-6. Didn't need a whole lot of help but you certainly helped. LOL
@@CDOES Unfortunately, it seems like the price is creeping up as word gets out. When I first heard of this thing a couple months ago, you could find it under $250 all day. As long as it stays under $300, this thing should eat the Strike Eagle’s lunch for the foreseeable future.
So I am not an LPVO fan but I picked up a Nightforce ATACR 1-8x and Spuhr mount for my 77 year old mother. She loved it but said it was overkill for her. So I traded it in for this optic and she loves the reticle on this more. For what she does and she shoots often to stay active, this does rival 500-1000 price LPVOs. This was just as clear at my Nightforce and I liked the reticle better. Warranty is solid as well. You can’t go wrong with it. I use a 4000+ elcan on my shtf SBR.
They're releasing scope ring mount adapter's for RMR sized red dots soon! The ALPHA2 mount, installs in place of the top scope ring half. Thank you for the time you put into these!
Great review man! I love how you demonstrate the eye box and the fisheye effect which is something I feel most people don’t fully understand if they never own one. I purchased this LPVO last week and was debating whether I should get an Eotech red dot which is a totally different optic. However, I have no regret and this review gave me more confirmation that it was a great purchase. Thank you 🙏
C_DOES, your reviews are some of the best on the web. Well done Brother, thank you! Picked up one of these for $260 for a cheap build. For this price, can't go wrong. Thanks again!
A review on the new 1-10 from SIG and on the HELOS BTR gen 2 in comparison with the swapfox would be awesome. A budget 1-10 showdown. Love the videos and hoest reviews
@@CDOES can you list what the bdc subtensions are. Everyone saying this scope is so nice but I can’t get anything to line up in strelok with it. Common 55/62 gr and their velocities are all over.
Sven co-op is perhaps some of my favorite times playing on the original half life engine! So many hours spent going crazy after high-school. I really miss those simpler times
Thank you for the review, I was in between this and the VORTEX 1-8 strike but from most of the reviews on that the eye relieve seems to be a problem with it and actually more people seem to like the SIG , I trust your knowledge, I'm new to LPVO's. and I must admit SIG offering the FDE ish color checks a box that I like, hey looks are a bit important too.
Funny that everyone loves that the torque values for the mount are printed on the mount itself, yet I’ve heard so many people complain about vortex being tacky for doing the same thing on some of their rings. And vortex used a much smaller, less noticeable font than the one sig used. I do think the sig font should be smaller, especially on the body of the mount. To each his own, I guess.
Install subscribe! Best review that I have seen ever on an optic. It is really talking and SHOWING the optic. Its like you VR. Not just showing you the body of the optic and saying what he thinks about It. GREAT STUFF.
Great review, and those turrets are especially crappy when zeroing the new optic with gloves on a cold day. But once I had it set, it held zero. I really like this optic
Finally! I got to mess with one this weekend. I was pleasantly surprised that I could somewhat see the reticle under full daylight. Was it perfect? No, but it was impressive for the $250 dollars you part with to acquire one. One thing I did notice a little chromatic aberration on the example I was able to mess with. This thing is way better than the Vortex SE when it comes to minimal visible scope body, clarity, and illumination.
Nice review! I watched this after watching your comparison of the Primary Arms ACSS Nova to a few other LPVO's in its price range. For me this SIG comes in second behind the PST. I tend to focus primarily on image clarity when comparing optics and this one is really good. I'd really like to see a comparison of the SIG to the newer Venom 1-6X24 because at this point, they are the 2 LPVO's I'm considering the most.
Thanks for the review. Your review is the reason I got this scope. You said something about the throw lever breaking. I will type in word for word on their warranty straight from owners manual. "We will repair or replace your SIG SAUER product in the event it becomes damaged or defective, at no charge to you. If we cannot repair you product , we will replace it with a product with perfect working order of equal or better physical condition. It doesn't matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it. " OH!! ALSO just saw on the end of the box, saying the words in all caps, " INFINITE GAURANTEE" ALSO wondering what the MSR acronym stands for. Thanks again for the review!!
How have I never come across this channel before? RU-vids f*ing up by not recommending this channel earlier 🤨 This is literally the review I’ve been looking for which sold me on this scope. That and the “pew….pew pew…..pew” lmao 🤣
Was a bit busy but had to drop what I was doing when I saw this. Hope the price doesn't increase too much by the time I plan a 14.5 build with this. After your Whiskey5 1-5 recommendation for my 11.5, I expect this to be great as well. Perhaps not like Japanese glass, but a big bang for buck is always good, especially for a non super gucci build. The mount, the lever, leveling line and the caps while being a good looking scope and reticle at that price point is unrivaled. SIG hitting it out of the park with these LPVO's of late.
@@CDOES Not really the cheapest but it's been a great optic. Bereli seems to still have 10 pcs or so in stock and SIG20 works every now and then for 20% off. It's always nice to have that alternative. In addition, I did notice that the 1x is really good and accurate as long as its not point blank. If within 5 meters, there is some bluriness at the edge of the scope.
Wow, that 1x looks sooooooo much better than the 1x on my primary arms 1-6x sfp. Mine warps like crazy which messes with my depth perception so I have to dial it at 1.25... Might just pick this up if I can find it on sale.
@@cookie5535 I always seem to have issues with eye relief, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. but it seem no better or worse then others. I always feel like I'm getting right up on the scope with my eye with any scope out there.
SOLD! I'm going to try one out. Glad I stumbled across your channel. Sending friends to you. If I use it a ton and it breaks... I'll spend more next time. Thank you.
Amazing optic review. Really covered all bases and took everything into consideration I just bought this scope because I'm on a budget and this is the best video I've found on it so far. Ofcourse I subbed. Now I got to find an affordable scope for my ar10 chambered in .308
After a year, I finally ordered this. I just can’t stop thinking about using a lpvo instead of my red dot/magnifier. So I’m giving this a shot and see how it goes!
This is a good starting point. They are inexpensive, work well, and will give you a good basis to understand if its something youll be interested in using it.
@@CDOESI'm in the same boat. I want to try an LPVO to see if it works for me, but don't want to break the bank. A usable mount being included seals it for me. If I end up liking an LPVO setup, I can always upgrade later.
lol for a moment at the beginning I thought it was a fps videogame review and I was like “ did I click at the wrong video? lol” Just bought it for my rifle Looking forward to try it out
Sig dropped the Tango MSR 1-8 and 1-10 in FFP, would love you to do a review on those when you get a chance. Love your channel! Best optic reviewer on YT by a mile.
I would prefer the PA 1-6 or 1-8x LPVO with ACSS because it performed well for me at close and mid range distances…. But dang this is a really good value with the knock off reticle… might pick one up for a budget build!
You have to try out the 509t X2 Green, It's insane. The glass has no blue tint unless you really look at the corners. Still got a bit of distortion but I've grown accustomed to it with he AEMS.
It makes me laugh when people didn't Ike me with what I said about the 509. Then the x2 comes out and fixes a lot of what I complained about with the now first Gen lol
Hi C_DOES, really appreciate your great works. It is always informative and helpful. Benefit from your reviews, I can narrowed my search down to this optics and Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm SFP. But I still can't make up my mind. Which one do you think is the better option? Thank you in advance for your help.
2 years later, how are the holding up. How do they hold zero when used on heavy recoiling hunting rifles like a 458 Win ? The biggest question I have , aside from them holding zero is . What is the eye relief !! From low to high ?
Great review, love the through the lens work, rather than just show views of the scope itself. I have one one the way right now, I feel even better about the purchase after watching you review.
Ah man this was cool af dude!!! Totally digging the pew pew sounds effects. Fucking brilliant my man! Pew pew!! Lmfao 🤣. Thanks for showing the optic reticle.
I think ill make a video to answer that soon. Sub $300 its this. Sub $500 im still a fan of the RT6. But there are So many others I havent used yet. Sub $1k its the Stryker HD/Credo HX. $1500 - razor E
Love this lpvo. It's just so heavy. Lol but fantastic. If you're running suppressed at any lenghth barrel 556 or 300 and your talking like 11 12lb set up.
Hi C, thanks for these videos! Just a heads up. I purchased this and the mount broke during my first indoor range session. I did torque to recommend specs and the picatinny rail section just broke during normal firing. Showing the scope off to my wife and it fell off the gun while she was shooting. Needless to say she was not impressed. Worked out for me though because I got the green light to buy quality. Scalar works mount and razor hd 1-6. Just thought I would share my experience.
Got it, but going to send it back. For me the fish eye is a little too much and the eyebox seems to be about the same as the Swampfox line of scopes 1-8 and under, but the Swampfox scopes have a very flat image. Still a good optic for the price though.
@@CDOES i think the best overall combination in the Arrowhead line is the 1-8 and the tomahawk 1-8 is nipping at it's heels. 1-4 tomahawk is a little wanting and the 1-6's in tomahawk and Arrowhead are roughly on par with the 1-8's but don't do anything better and lose 2x power. The field of view for both the 1-8's is pretty good at around I believe 125 feet at 1x. Love your content! Keep it up! Oddly a really good 1-4 to consider looking at is the truglo omnia 4.
