In this episode we look at the remains of the Station, Platforms and Goods areas at Sigglesthorne Railway Station. Present is a large coal drop area and a long NER Platform
This is our journey into the Hull and Hornsea Railway. Originally terminating at Wilmington short of Paragon, the service was extended to the shared Victoria Dock Branch and the Hull and Holderness Railway. We will be documenting our discoveries along the route of the former Hornsea bound route and we will show you all the wonderful Railway Relics along the way.

Another totally superb video on this series ,just goes to show if you do a little digging relics are still there .As for the sleepers a lot of farmers used them back in the day as roadways to get from field to field ,perhaps the surplus left ?

Siggles' thorn bushes, eh? who'da thunk it! Very neat tidbit of history. This place looks like it was a happening spot on the railway years ago. Any chance the big concrete foundations might be for a water tank for filling steam locomotive tenders? The concrete would be able to hold a massive weight, for sure. If there was some photos from the 1940's or 1950's they might show something along the lines of a big rectangular tank on columns, which would in theory rest on the concrete. Cheers and thanks for the video!

Hello there, that is a good point. We have not seen any water towers or tanks along the route at all.

Thanks for another great video Andy, can any of the hive mind on here tell me why railway fencing was always placed on a 45 degree angle ? I'm sure it's something that everyone else except me that knows.

Hello there, it sure was a common design but I don't know the origins
