This is a dream that I have always wanted to see and carry out myself - The best New Zealand clip that overseas fishers would give their eye teeth for. You Sir have done remarkable things for the far north that I hoped would remain secret. Please keep them coming. From a bloke that is just getting a handle on 'smashed' 'Sick' & 'Bust up' The ONLY disappointment would be how the camera does not have a polarized lens and we as the viewer cannot see what you can see. Great how you were able to show the true depth of the water with your paddle and how remarkable there are still places in NZ that have been basically untouched. A snapper of 8 kilos takes about 40-50 years to get to that size and its so nice to see you return them back to the nursery. I know from experience that a snapper needs to be just over 40 cm as a cooking fish and anything else is not so nice. Great Great clip and again thankyou for your efforts and sharing 🤩One day I will get back to the far north and I am definitely going to work out a way to experience just what you have filmed.
Good to see this again William, we used to camp up there 50 years ago and you could see the big snaps boring for shellfish even further up the harbour……cool vid. P.
@@danielboy3594 there is no camp ground, when your in this part of the country and your family has been there for 100 years , you just camp , it’s not like other places that have been over run
This looks like a fantastic opportunity to cast a crab or shrimp pattern. So much fun fly fishing for snapper in these kinds of settings. Thank you for the beautiful footage.
So good William, that would be a epic experience getting so close to them. Well put together vid to mate. Keep up the cool content and cheers for the entertainment 😀
FFN 👊 mean footage brother willz... Big fish in a small pond.. haha seen the green machine around up herr .. will Chuck you a hola dirty big Dogg bust upps🤙
Hi there man what an awesome sight. Can you tell me where you are I live in Sydney I used to live up north in the Hokianga. Just love your shows well done.
When I'm in Aussie I fish the same very shallow water but mostly with surface lures. The fish I catch aren't feeding off the surface but the lures induce strikes. I use lures like the Bassday Sugarpen and MMD Splashprawn. You would have to take the silly little trebles off and put on stronger singles. Real exciting when they bow wave in on the lure.
unreal spot bet some micro stickbaits would be a blast there, i remember seeing a vid of milan lateral line a few years back hooking snaps in a harbour on stickys in the shallows .thanks for the drop loved it
