SIGHT FISHING a 30 LB CREEK MONSTER!!

In this video, I am sight fishing for some of the biggest fish I have ever sight fished. These fish are "tailing", with their nose down in the mud looking for crustaceans to eat, and they are easy to see with their tails out of the water!

Bucket list fish… biggest drum I’ve ever caught was freshwater drum, about 4#. I’ve heard they can hit 60#, but not in any water near me! The black and red drums tho… someday. Hells yeah. NICE JOB, MAN!!

Those big black drum sure lose their fight a little bit when it get cooler. Reminds me of our freshwater drums here in Lake Erie. Great video Ty 🤘

So every black drum 30+ inches that I ever caught was on soft plastics, never caught one on crabs, live bait, or cut bait in my life. So next time you’re in this situation again, try jigging gulp shrimp in front of their face. It’s so much fun doing it that way. Also would make a fantastic video.

seriously? I have only caught them on shrimp or crabs. I couldnt imagine how fun it would be to have one eat a gulp shrimp hahahha just insane!

@@TyPigPatrol yeah, there is a few of us doing it with artificial. Either blind casting reefs or sight casting them in the marsh or canals and it not like we are catching them on accident. We are purposely targeting them with lures and in some areas in Galveston bay, the Big ugly's school up by the dozens.

Gulp’s definitely good but I’ve caught them on plenty of unscented soft plastics too as well as gold spoons and spinnerbaits. I’ve found the key is getting the lure right in their face because they have TERRIBLE vision. Although I’ve found that spinnerbaits give me a bit of a margin for error probably because they can feel the vibrations. My theory is that the spinnerbait mimics the vibrations of a swimming blue crab but that’s not confirmed
