How do you figure out the fingering quickly? Or do you change the fingering when you learn this piece a bit better? Also, I've noticed a lot of pianists such as you and Valentina Listita play with flat fingers. Insturctures commonly oppose this but it seems like a hidden technique for professional pianists. Can I ask why you do this and how you stop your fingers from bending?

I try to look ahead and try to figure out the hand position. It's also knowing general fingering rules like using the longer fingers on the black keys and the shorter fingers on the white keys (usually), the thumb under, finger substitution, etc. I made a video on fingering if you're interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UFRIM91oATs.html If I'm learning the piece, then I go through the fingering and write out or change the fingering to suit my hands. I didn't realise I was using flat fingers... The top knuckles are still outward and strong. I'm not intentionally stopping them from curving. That is just how my hands look, I think. It could also be that my fingers look flatter than usual because I have small hands (?). Curved fingers is good but they don't need to be curved at all times or overly curved. The hands should be free of tension.
