These cars don't produce anywhere near enough downforce to "porpoise" along the runway at those speeds. Ignore the other comments about it.

Yeh ? I’ve never seen the under floor of these things but to porpoise yad need a flat floor very close to road , but if the springs are very light for testing and the front splitter was the per pose of the test then possibly it’s what we seen . 👨🏼‍🎓 fucked if I know

Why do we only see the cars at the start and finish of the run? I would like to see a camera pan the whole run and hear the cars at full rev not just coming down the gears.

Adelaide is the last round of the season for the next 5, NSW has the contract for the first race, could be Newcastle if they can't fit it between the Goldy and adl races

I think few people understand when there is a mix of a race weighted flywheel matched to a high compression, big cammed V8... smooth low speed power delivery just isnt going to happen.

@@karlbarnett5863 Throttle sensitivity increases when flywheel weight decreases. With such a light weight flywheel that these cars have coupled with their high compression and displacement will mean small throttle movements will give a big "jerk" of acceleration. To go further, their large single throttle body doesnt give linear airflow. At low throttle openings as seen at idle, opening the throttle 1% wont equal 1% more airflow, it will be closer to 5%. This trend does improve, but usually when the throttle percentage reaches 75%, airflow is close enough to 100%. What does this all mean? These cars are easy to stall, or "bunny hop"

Porpoising at 40kms lol i don't think so. Porpoising is caused from ground effects (areo) sucking the car to the ground when the chassis or underneath of the car hits the ground the car bounces up and then the areo sucks it back down so on and so forth. What you see there on the concrete is bumps from join lines where each slab has been poured next to each other, over time the ground underneath moves and each slab either moves or cracks or both, combined with suspension that's designed to follow the road. Adelaide 2022 make it happen supercars!

It's pretty cold and dry in Toowoomba at this time of year, will that effect the outcome oft the testing when the cars are raced in warmer and more humid climates?

It could slightly affect the results due to denser air, but nothing that would make the results useless by any means, it won’t make any significant difference

Just so the cars look the same as their factory counter parts aka what you can buy from the shop. Performance, brake cooling, air induction, downforce etc are all dramatically different from a factory car. "Go fast holes" are placed differently in a race application, compared to a road car. I hope this helps a little.

They have removed the suspension springs to make it solid. The cars are bouncing on the tyres.

The bouncing at low speeds is transmission related, the very mild bouncing while running is cos runways are bumpy

Watch Ford get screwed yet again on aero How many times was Holden ever taken backwards for the sake of so called parity? @@Grant80 your forgetting when the ZB was introduced and FPR was crying foul. Also T8 main concern in 2020 was the parity adjustments were causing the ZBs to overheat. Not an issue when your at the front but since they supplied half the Holden teams with cars of course they are going to complain about it.

Where is the test? And why are they bouncing worse than my friends civic, which has all suspension removed?. Yes he did it as a kind of joke, but it doesn't bounce like these cars at all.

Probably because the shocks on all 4 corners would have been replaced with load cells to measure weight on each corner at different speeds, giving a definitive downforce level
