SIGILLUM | FANTASY SHORT FILM 4K 2021 | German OV with English Subtitles
"SIGILLUM - The balance of light and darkness" is a short film project within the high fantasy genre which is written and produced by filmmakers from Germany, Austria and Italy. This film is part of the first chapter of a larger saga about a world that is one half eternal day and one half perpetual night. Walking the line between both is the ancient Order of Balance which has always kept the peace between the two realms.
A peace that is now on the verge of breaking.
SYNOPSIS SHORTFILM:
The Dark Ages. This part of the world is shrouded in eternal night. A mysterious stranger arrives in a small village. He confronts a young woman named Vara with her past. Vara will have to make a life changing decision that will determine her future.
Destiny has chosen thusly.

Great sets, production design, getting all those extras to build on the world, which sounds really interesting, good acting too. A lot of respect for all the work you put in. It's just, it's not clear, what specifically he goal is, go with this stranger to "balance the scales" between good and evil, i can't really see in my mind what that would look like, I'm not clear so it is robbing me of my interest to keep watching. Why is she the one to do this? what's at stake if she doesn't? why does that matter to her so much, you tell me she lies awake at night at how the good suffer and the evil do not, but I don't experience that through the main character in order to get invested. A lot of telling and not enough showing me. It's lacking some essential context before you launch your story. It's definitely got lots of potential, though. Thanks.

Tolles Skript, es macht neugierig auf mehr Story! Hmmm. Das Schauspiel war noch etwas hölzern/unauthentisch. Aber der Aufwand für die Szenen war unfassbar beeindruckend! Die Kulisse war der Hammer! PS: den Köcher trägt die Fantasyfigur von Welt an der Seite, nicht am Rücken :D Einmal unterm Ast vorbei geduckt, schon hat man alle Pfeile am Boden verteilt.

Die Produktion ist echt Hammer. Hut ab. Wirklich gut gemacht. Nur finde ich die Wahl der Festbrennweiten für suboptimal. Viel zu viel Bokeh und bei bestimmte Einstellungen geht der Fokus flöten. Ansonsten echt super.

Freut uns, dass es Dir gefallen hat! Interessantes Feedback mit den Brennweiten. Vielen Dank für den aufmerksamen Hinweis! :) Die Offenblenden waren großteils dem mangelnden Licht und Ausstattung geschuldet, aber wir wollen uns ja technisch steigern :)

@@filmkollektiv Schaut euch mal genauer paar große Filme an. Fast 50 % aller Aufnahmen sind komplett scharf gestellt oder haben einen nur leicht verschwommen Hintergrund. Dieses übertriebene Bokeh ist eher ein modernes RU-vid fenomen. Große Filmemacher sagen auch: besser ein scharfes und schön berichtete Bild als eine Aufnahme bei der man nix erkennt. Ist aber auch nur meine eigene Meinung und Wahrnehmung. Aber sonst ist es echt klasse. Hoffe bald mal euer Niveau an Produktion zu erreichen.
