Sigma Max Push Handle 49" Tile Cutter 3E4M

Sigma has just recently started making push handle cutters. They have big (36"+) pull handles. Its easier to see the mark but push handles cut better and cause less fatigue. Personally i dont need to see mark to mark when cutting. Line the tile up and then go. You can check your start and finish before you actually cut. If they are money then cut, seeing the wheel on the line during the cut isnt important.

@@Hugh-Jorgan yes seeing the wheel on the line while cutting doesnt matter , but you need to line blade to marks first and that does seem easier with a pull cutter, at least the ones i have or have seen. seeing the blade to the marks is the most time consuming part of the cut, so its extremely important, especially on really long planks . the actual cutting takes a second, but lining up angle cuts takes most of the time and hardly none of the videos i see address this. sure if your cutting simple straight cuts its no issue , but when cutting to trim that rarely happens, so mark to mark cutting is like 90 percent of the cuts. also sigma has been making push handle cutters for years, but have not tried one, so thats why i inquired as to the ease of the push compared to the pull.

@@Hugh-Jorgan did you say that all sigmas are push? if so you probably have never seen a sigma pull cutter because they are completely different. a sigma pull handle cutter cannot be pushed because the blade is in a totally different location on the handle. on a pull handle the blade is all the way forward on the handle, on a push its in the middle or towards the rear of handle. sure, maybe on a little cut you could manipulate it to be done but you would be hard pressed to make a proper cut..

@@frankcatrini4816 I'm a special breed. Where there's a will...I wish I could post videos, 30 years ago before I knew what I was doing and how to properly use a cutter, I would push and pull my scores thinking it will snap cleaner. I know better these days. Anyway I had my own special way that only a 22 year old that thinks they know it all could have to pull a push cutter or push a pull. It ain't easy but it can be done. I didn't realize that the dude in the video wasn't bright enough to take the handle off and turn it around so it could actually function properly as a push cutter. Seeing the handle with the backstop set up as a pull cutter I thought dude was just pushing his pull cutter. So there is a reason that a pull cutter has the stop at the bottom and a push has it at the top. You cut toward the stop. It holds the tile and keeps it from moving. Sigma tells you in its instructions to take the handle off and flip it around so you can push with the stop atvthe top. The guy in the video didn't do that. Seeing him push away from the stop with nothing but gravity to hold the tile still so it doesn't slip forward or slide forward. Anyway I thought for a minute he was not cutting right. And he wasn't but for a different reason than why I actually thought. None of that probably made sense.

@misterRay11... it can be difficult to reach to the length of machine if it's on a table. Table has its limitations such as hand pressure. Size of tile will dictate whether one can walk alongside length of machine

Always use it on a table, used to do the floor I suggested a table. Saves time and the body now 🙌🏿

the problem with it being on a table is that you have to get up every time to make a cut . This tile cutter is over kill anyways . you wouldn’t use it unless you have nothing else . in this case this guy probably bought it and is dedicated to using it for every job since it’s like $2k

Poblano disculpa q te aproveche pero los cortadores Sigma sirven para cortar tile pequeño para un backsplash? Acabo de comprar uno en Amazon a pesar q todos dicen q hay q usar wet saw. Q me dices? Gracias

@@PaulPhoenix2010 la verdad la máquina sigma es lo mejor es muy practico y corta todo tipo de tile amenos que sea traventino o slate pero muy recomendable
