She’s underrated as a stylist/fashionista. I love this method sew in. I’m in the Midwest and a lot of stylist are so dam lazy and they don’t like doing this method. Well…next weekend I will be doing this look. I’ve done it before and people thought it was my hair. So I love this method.
its the year 2023, and the girls have renamed this style and made it into something else. I'm back for the original. your makeup and hair aged well. still flawless.
This will forever be one of my favorite videos on RU-vid. Every time I do the Ivy Flip I come back to rewatch.. Thanks Ivy!!! You’re the TRUTH SIS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is how I made my wigs back then when you first introduced it and how I wear my wigs now. I still hashtag ivypowellflipovermethod and people still have questions like.... Bro this girl saved us all!!!!
trust me it works no matter your hair type. I have kinky curly hair naturally. I just got myself a really good gel (eco styler olive oil or you can go old school with some Nixon blue gel) laid my edges at night with a scarf, in the morning edges were laid and blended into the hair. The trick is gel and leaving the tiniest bit of hair out as you possibly can!!!!
Yea or at least the side that's gonna be exposed has to be good the other side where all the hair is going be laying doesn't have to be maybe then it will give the person a chance to get it healthy
I just did this and it's amazingly beautiful with my Lola's Hair Super Indian Curly. I only needed 3.5 bundles, my back is shaved, this method is flawless even with the wind blowing my hair every which way. Ivy you are amazing, thanks lib.
so I did this flip over method after I watched your video and wore it for New Year's girl when I say that my hair was on Jam I mean peanut butter and jam all the preserves all of that thank you so much for showing us this I'm going to do it again for my mom with some Jerry curl type hair and I'm going to do me another one and a real nice red or something I'm going to move on the frontal or sooner or later thanks to you keep up the great work girl
I love this style, especially since I have thin hair on the top. It gives lot of volume and make my hair appear thicker. Also, the hair is simply beautiful as well as yourself. I just love it, love it!!! I have watched several of your other videos and so far the ones that I have seen are all awesome. You are very detail in showing and talking about how to do the styles and also the hair quality in your tutorials videos. Thank you so much.
This is beautiful. My beautician told me to watch your video to inform me how she will be doing my hair and I must say after watching this video, I am eager to try this. This will be my first sew in. Thank you.
Hey Ivy I knw u said that the fold over method works on the u part wig with a closure but could you do a tutorial showing how?? I really love this look but I want to do it on a dome cap. Also could you show this method with straight/wavy hair?? I have wavy weave that i like to straighten every now and then. Thanks so much you've taught me a lot!!
OMG Ivy u r the shit! So glad ur in my city, i MUST get 2 u asap lol. I nvr get my hair done at the shop, i usually just do it myself cause I figure i'll do it better but my SOUL is tellin me u need 2get in my head. I use youtube a lot 2do things and most times they don't come out right so I have very little faith in all these tutorials. Still , i was determined to try this flipover method. At first I was a lil leary cause I have really fine hair & thin edges and most times my tracks still show through my fine hair but this technique came out perfect. Plus I was able to leave my sides out and give them some much needed TLC. Annnnnd my hair is sexy as shit lol. So for all the ladies on this thread wondering how it'll turn out with fine hair....its beautiful!
+Ivy dear I just wanted to give you a shout out because of you I was able to make my flip over method wig with a dome cap and glue! thank you so much for teaching and sharing!
Hi Ivy. Question. You lay the tracks on the opposite side of where you want your hair to flip right? (Ex. I like my hair on the right so I lay the tracks on the left right?)
You place the tracks really close. I wear this style all the time. The key is to use textured or curly hair. This process may not look as nice on bone straight hair
I'm going to just go ahead and assume that you are not as young as you look (take it as the highest form of a compliment). You really have an old soul or a person who was very stylish back in the day. I love the way you are incorporating old methods with the the natural looking bundles of today's time... it looks way better than how it was done back in the day with the cheap pack hair lol. Keep doing your thing, I needed this beautiful reminder of simple but stylish ways to do you hair when you are tired of the same ole thang. I also do this flip over method with clip ins because I don't know who to braid. lol
My hair is natural really kinky, so it's obvious I can't leave my hair out , why not do a tutorial on the flip over method for us that can't leave our hair out please thanks
What I'm going to do since i have the same problem (afro kinky for me.. lol) I'm going to sew a track underneath the perimeter of my wig cap so when i flip it up the tracks (if any showing) will be concealed. Just make sure the tracks are close together so you don't get any gaps :)
Definitely loved how you demonstrate the flip over method. I usually do it towards the middle.. Doing it to the side does create a lot of volume! #loveit
Diamond Monae I did it before. Phillip Eric hair has a tutorial where there's a middle and two sides and you can flip your hair to either side or keep it in the middle. Definitely would try the hair again it was giving me lifeeeee 👏👏
No fair.. You have beautiful hair already.. It just blends perfectly.... What about us e With nappy hair?? I promise you it won't look a blended as yours... You have a very soft curly texture of Hair!!
Akilah Copeland I just know that you can't be texting me this Lil funky comment!!! This is I'm the public domain, with that being said anyone is allowed to comment on these videos... Grow up!
Bitches are so hateful! Why is there 355 lames that didn't like your technique? Why Craig??😒 Thanks for sharing because EVERYBODY uses your technique whether they give you your props or not!😘
This hair texture with your flip over method really has me inspired i do have in your flip over method now with brazilian straight i have it wanded right now never had it straight its curled but keep up the good work much love to u
I tried this and it turned out VERY pretty I just didnt use a good quality hair. The way that you explain it makes it very easy to do!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Oh man I've making my wigs like this for years and years and years! Lol. But I'm glad you have shown it to ever. It really is the best and easiest way to get it done! Lol
i actually sew through my tracks when sewing hair on to clips and i do get a lot of shedding and the weft seems to fall apart after a while. i didn't know that sewing through the tracks could damage the weft. thanks ivy! i will try it this way next time
