Heifers looking really well and the bull looks to be just the job for heifers, a nice kind head and not too coarse at the shoulder. Everything that can knock a meadow is beating away up here today there won’t be a baler or wrapper idol in this country tomorrow. Just going to stir the slurry and make a start at covering the silage ground it’s not as if we are short of it and it’s not going to grow grass in the pit. I know we were later than usual getting the first cut but considering the spring we have had a massive crop averaged a bit over 10 bales to the acre and it was for the most part pretty good quality stuff all things considered it’s years like this that makes me glad I never use grass that heads out before the 8th of June, it allows for a bad spring. We are in the scep scheme so a certain percentage have to be genotyped, so we genotype them all as calves it’s handier as you don’t have to be getting them back in later on in the year when they give you the number’s to be genotype also there aren’t any mistakes on cards for sex which is an easy mistake to make
