I can walk in a gun shop and walk out with a handgun but i can't walk out with a can so i don't scare the crap out of the neighbor's horses. The waiting period is absolutely asinine.
I can't believe how restrictive it is to get a suppressor in some parts of the USA. Here in New Zealand, you just go to the shop and buy 1 or 2 or 3...... if they hadn't got any, it will be a 3 or 4 day wait. That is just for postage. No paperwork at all needed
Why is it so restrictive? If you work for some government departments, to do animal control here, they strongly push for you to use one to save your hearing.
We basically got screwed over by mobsters in the 30's committing crimes with "scary" guns. We also have to fight our mainstream media that demonizes silencers any chance they get. It makes it so people think that they should be illegal.
64 days ago (but who's counting 😉) I used the Silencer Shop kiosk then bought my Dead Air Sandman S through Silencer Shop! So easy a caveman could do it! My gun shop just called last week and got the can in. Can't wait to make my first conjugal visit here in the next week! Great video Ryan, and excellent work Silencer Shop! Helpful tip, if using a kiosk for finger printing, make sure to bring some hand lotion so it can scan your finger prints much easier!
Only if you know all the steps to getting a can. The video started off as a tutorial for people who have never gone through the process before, but it quickly derailed into basic discussion about things that only experienced buyers will understand. And they literally never even explained what exactly a trust was.
When I add Trustees to my Single Shot Trust after receiving Stamp, they don't need FPrints but does it require a Notary signature and with them present? Thanks!
This video in no way is any help whatsoever to someone who has never gone through the process before. You claimed this would cover the basics of buying a supressor from the beginning, and it actually started off that way. The video quickly derailed into a discussion of processes and terminology that only an experienced customers would understand. A large portion of the video talks about "Trusts" but no one ever bothers to break down what a trust is for and why it might be necessary. There still isnt a single video anywhere that I've been able to find that shows the most absolute basic step-by-step process for buying a supressor.
Its still not easy and cost prohibitive for the average working/taxpaying slob. The whole concept is unconstitutional and degrading."This shall not be infringed".
Great video but needed a little clarification. When you mentioned the atf scanning a bar code on your application you meant physical atf paper application and not an electronic one? It is my understanding atf suspended electronic ones? Then when you mentioned adding a trust name to the single item application is it done after atf approval and the approved paperwork and stamp have been recieved by you. or after submitting to the atf and is still pending? Then can that 2nd person on the trust take possession of that item with the stamp?
So... wait a minute... So I don't need to fill out the paper work and just do it at one of these Silencer shop if they are located at my local gun shops? Will it automatically register me? Or do I still need to register through the ATF? Slightly confused here 🙄.
Why do they take the finger prints? what happens to and with the prints? when i buy a fire arm i dont have to do that. no one explains what happens with all this paper work and prints or why they take them
I always get hung up on the trust portion... I want my family to inherit my purchases when I pass... So if i only plan 1 or 2 suppressor purchases, it might make sense to buy the single shot for each can and then put my family on each trust after I receive my suppressor(s)?... Is that something that can be done on the Kiosk?
I do... weekly. Last I was told by BATFE, "We are awaiting the paperwork to return from FBI." I guess they've been busy lately? ;) And to top it off I'm a former Marine and LEO and still have to wait this long. All the things I've seen and been trained in and I just wait.
I see dealers near me but none have the blue fingerprint or a kiosk symbol on the map but they say powers by ss. Will they still be able to help me out or do I need the kiosk to do it all? Also would it be possible to make an app that could be used like a kiosk? A lot of phones can take finger prints.
