If you rent, there's a big deposit that you get back when you return them (the deposit is so you don't just steal them, if you wanted to keep them you buy them). Buying is usually like $100 and you can reuse them for every event. Rentals is usually $5 to $10 but you have to put down a $100 deposit on top of that, basically if you don't return them as a rental you'll have spent more than it would cost to just buy it outright. They are special headphones that connect with up to 3 different channels of music, everyone on one color is listening to the same thing, each color is a different music channel.

@@sonyab81 Well I'd imagine also that each individual listener can have full control over how loud the music is; you do not get that with a typical PA system. Some concert attendees don't like the loudness that often comes with live music, and some don't even like that feeling of the low notes in the music vibrating through their bodies. But an event/concert like this, where the music is heard entirely through headphones and no loudspeakers, would throw all of those issues into the trash! I mean, sure it's not the same as listening through loudspeakers, but it's a very valid alternative.

@@sonyab81 You're welcome! :) honestly, I feel like this could possibly be the future of how concerts are experienced, especially when you consider all the obvious advantages I mentioned. I'm a big fan of musicians and artists who go beyond the traditional way of doing things. The silent disco or "headphone concert" is a good example of that. Another one is Max Richter's "sleep" concert, where Max and his team of musicians play very soothing music to audience members that lie down in beds and literally go to sleep (yes, you heard me correctly!)

I get it. Yeah, there's time and place for loud music. And then there's also a time for silent disco! Once your headphones are on, it's like you have loud music in your ears! And the collective vibe of everyone jammin' to music of their own choosing is a wonderful experience! Collective jammin'! It's not about being better or worse than live, loud music. It's it's own amazing thing!

I'm 20, born 1998. I'm looking at this progressively. Being able to switch channels to different music is what the color on their headphones means. And when you find someone you want to talk to, all you do is take them off and find a place to talk and boom, you can have a conversation without the blaring music in the background. But I guess it's cool to blame all millennials for anything progressive that actually makes sense and is convenient. Let's just stick to the old ways that cared in popularizing cigarettes that's I'm addicted to. I work for the things I got. Stop generalizing the young generation just because you dont agree with the times.

@TechGuy77 No, my generation has had to deal with the fallouts of those before it. I vape now because I'm addicted to nicotine. I have horrible anxiety and suicidal thoughts so it helps me. Like a nervous tick. Addiction isnt something you can wake up and just decide "oh yeah that, that thing that I've been doing for years now and is known to be addictive due to the materials and what sensation it gives your head? Yeah that? I'm just gonna stop that." No I cant. I cut down time and time again. Little by little but I dont think I ever want to kick the habit. It's become too ingrained. I doubt this is a fad. It's been around longer than you've probably known about it and is just now gaining more traction. There are alot of things millennials have done that has been popularized. This is just the way of the future. More convenience and less hassle. That's the bottom line. A person causing issues? Cut off their bluetooth and get them out. Everyone else can enjoy the music without having stops of interruptions. You see a cool person you want to get to know better? Get their attention and take off the head phones. There, now you can go and talk without it being horribly loud. Let's not even think about the long term benefits of not having extremely high disibles constantly blaring in your ears so everyone can hear the music. Or the fact you cant even understand the music sometimes. You just hear the beat and go. The possibilities this adds to the nightly attractions is many. It's more exclusive as well because only a certain amount of people can do this at once. And let's not forget the whole scene if gotten correctly could eventually look like something out of Tron. I dont see many cons with this. I dont care for alot of comments opinions or the majority in something. It matters if I like it to me. Not what you think. I will sit here and talk to you about it but dont think that calling me or anyone else a millennial is any way a good argument for you not liking something.
