I don´t get it though! I am a fan of the games (well, up until 3 at least. 4 was also kind of good, I guess, but for the cancellation of P.T. I actually got devastated!) and I actually really liked this movie. The sequel was, where they completely fucked everything up!!

+JJmp40 A jump scare is not being scared - it is a high amount of adrenalin being pumped through your body to give you the energy to either fight or run. If you immerse yourself and really let the game do it's thing (i.e. playing alone, playing during the night, in long sessions, etc.), it can destroy you on a level that pretty much no other horror media will ever be able to. For example your profile pic makes me scared of humanity becoming to stupid to function...
Jokes aside, this definitely is a must play. It's a game that messes with your mind and you get that constant sense of creepiness. It's not really scary or anything and many of the enemies just amble here and there and are not really a threat to the player. It's purely because of the atmosphere the game pulls off that I recommend you to try the game out...

Nah nah, the atmosphere that makes this games scary, even tho its a PS 2 graphics games. And don't forget sound jumpscare even tho there's no monsters nearby
I watched this video years ago and finally actually played the game, and I cannot believe dunkey had me thinking this was some dumb silly game with funny voice acting instead of being one of the most terrifying and oppressive pieces of media ever.

I know the developers were really torn apart by the decision to give you the best weapon in the game right away but as a kid the 2x4 board was really the weapon that carried me through this game.
no. It has several endings. If you couldnt tell this whole vid was a JOKE and not an actualy review. Depending on what you did throughout the journey, the ending vaires. The dog ending is actually the most unlikely ending and usualy has to be done by a guide if u want to see it. What dunkey did for the comedic value.
The movie critics didn't like the movie, but the people liked it. It has very good user scores on Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play. (It's not rare that the opinion of movie critics and the public diverges.)
@@cube2fox Yeah, I guess I'm a fucking weirdo because I actually liked both movies as a huge fan of the games. Faithfully adapting Silent Hill to film was never going to be an option because so much of the game is brooding silence and atmosphere, which just doesn't translate to a movie. I think they did about as good a job as they could have trying to adapt something like that into a movie.

the scene where pyramid head cleanly rips that girls skin off and throws it at the church door was awesome. but I don't think one scene can redeem an entire movie.

I just beat this for the first time and thought it was amazing. But seeing that gut-incinerating Maria moment cut with that dog ending I didn’t know existed until now makes this game even more of a masterpiece. Thank u dunko!!!

+Bartosz Skorupa I have a lot of reason why I think the second movie is worst like how it has a shitty set up for a sequel ( the talismans that rose found in between movies) how they took Vincent a who was a really interesting character in the game and turned him into a love interest, how they fuck up the scene in the car and how they turned phead into the hero of the movie
+Bartosz Skorupa well when a piece of media that people really like gets an adaptation it's only normal that people compare the two but you are right if you rate the movie based on the amount of cool moments revelations is better than the first one but that's one of the reasons why a lot of people don't like the movies cuz its not supposed to be cool or at least they didn't want it to be cool
