Ummm it's possible to run SH4 on PC?? I did try on Windows 10 and 11 and that game never started, I don't have Win XP or 7 hardware support cuz drivers doesn't exist for modern boards. SH2 and SH3 they work pretty well on both, SH2 needs a tweak for audio stuttering but the trick works.
SH 2-3 are possibly the only games where higher settings imply lower graphics, whether emulated or official PC port. Shadows aren't meant to look that way, neither does the absence of motion blur, not to mention the depth of field. Still, it looks supreme. SH3 is just a technology and art masterpiece. Moreover, it's impressive how it manages to look SO damn realistic without any special post processing effects we have nowadays. It's like, plain realism.
I never understood why Claudia left her in so many positions to die when she wants the god born. Or how, and maybe Leonard didn’t know she had god inside her, why he wanted her to die a gruesome death. OR how Cheryl didn’t just run off and abort the god away from Claudia then get her revenge
Probably Claudia knew she would escape alive, or maybe the monsters weren't meant to kill her, there's a death scene were after dying Cheryl is being dragged by one of the villains, so perhaps they were only trying to stop her, and maybe Leonard was ignorant of Cheryl having God inside her, and I can't think of an answer for that last one
Valtiel (the monster you see at various locations, or at 43:18) brings Heather back to life anytime she dies, as you sometimes see him drag her away if you die in certain spots, so Claudia never needs to worry as she knows Heather will always be brought back until the time for god's birth. Leonard is a fanatic who has been locked up for a long time, so he knows nothing about what Claudia is doing or Heather, being so self-absorbed in his righteousness that he would confront the mother of his god and call her a heretic for not going along with his delusions. Heather doesn't fully remember how to use the Aglaophotis to abort the god until she fully regains her memories after defeating the Memory of Alessa, and by that point, she's too deep into Silent Hill to just escape. Besides, Heather is hellbent on getting revenge on Claudia first and foremost, so her priorities aren't really on the god until the very end.
Alessa fight seems to be the inspiration for Book Simon fight in Cry of fear, there are so many similitudes Both are a dark, blood covered version of the main character, both are using weapons that the main character used, and they both use a different weapon each time they are "killed"
The reason I could never get behind Silent Hill games is that their story and dialogue are just random surreal nonsense that never lands. The pacing of the cutscenes is so misguided. It SUPER messy and awkward and feels like a rickety framework barely assembled enough to string together some of the gameplay elements.
