I only knew Mary Elizabeth McGlynn from her role as Motoko Kusanagi in the Ghost in the Shell franchise. When i heard her singing i was blown away, couldn't help picturing Section 9 as a band tho lmao. Found out she was also in an episode of Xena Warrior Princess.

You literally compiled my favorite silent Hill songs. I've always loved the emo/grunge/romantic 2000 vibe. I think silent Hill is the only game series that gives me that energy. I'm a recent fan, I came to play silent Hill 3 (my First game) at the beginning of last year, and I'm completely in love to this day.

you should definitely watch the japanese film "kairo". it also perfectly captures those and the early 00s computer technology aesthetics, which is my thing, along with dark/depressing/creepy atmosphere.

I also recommend you to try the games "Obscure" 1 and 2. The horror element is clearly lighter, and also is the story, but they have that grunge/romantic 2000 vibe you're talking about, and also you can play co op with a friend!

Not disrespect Yamaoka's outstanding work but i was curious to see what Songs could be asociated. I used the Song "Rx Queen" for the Maria Ending, specially because of the line "i steal a Carcass for you then free up the virus"

The first song is so nostalgic to me. I remember playing Silent Hill 3 on my old ass PS2 back when I was a kid, but I was too scared to do shit in the actual game because it was too scary for me back then. I remember just putting the SH3 disc just to hear the intro song before shutting my system down completely and switching back to Cartoon Network.

Grab the first 4 games and a guide if you need the extra hand. Sh2 alone imo has the best narrative I've seen in a video game, it just hits these massive waves with me. But all 4 of them are excellent in their own right. Do yourself a huge favor and play them before time forgets them.

I remember seeing this CD in a music store back in 2003. I bought the CD for fun, but I got so into this album... a lot of memories are associated with the songs from this CD. Carefree days, lots of friends, college, unrequited love... oh, I wish I could go back there at least for a day, life was so easy in those days…

I didn't know Silent Hill had music like this and I found this out by complete accident. I'm really glad you made this compilation! I've been listening to it a lot and I think it's really well made. Thank you for sharing this! Edit: I had forgotten to mention but the cover and the way the compilation is made really captures this 2000's mood perfectly.
