@olucaspc Honestly, that could have its own, honestly quite good interpretation. "Enough, with the light." It's as if you're finally starting to see things for what they are. Like as if the light, a good thing, is now superficial compared to what it is blinding you from. All of the good things that have been around you... You know now it was all there just to hide your sight from the ruin all along.
@@NyneVoltGames Listening to the songs alone could almost fool you into thinking this game has a good story. Honestly the soundtrack itself is a better SH experience than the game, which I think is a fun way to look at it.
You will get your wish... But it comes at a cost. The now dog shite company known as konami aka (EA of Japan) will be delivering this experience. As well as castlvania and metal gear games... The odds of these 3 gfranchises having a great future don't look good. Let's hope they turn out well... It's just hard to have faith and hope after metal gear survive, konami screwing over kojima on metal gear 5, and the cancelled silent hills which would have been amazing probably considering how kool death stranding turned out to be.
This video is blocked on my region for some unkown reason, but with some internet wizardry I can watch and comment it once again. I love this woman so much, her voice is divine.
There's just something about these songs, if you've been through anything in your life it's like you can just feel and understand them on a whole other level, like as if the song understands you in a way, like as if it's explaining your pain to you so that by understanding it you can heal easier, like as if you're walking through a dark maze and a hand gently guides you toward the exit.
@@leversandpulleys9274 To be fair, the silent hill games have always been one big metaphor for overcoming truama and hardship, so the music does its job right :)
From a realistic point of you, Silent Hill Homecoming honestly wasn't as bad as people think. The Story was pretty hit or miss with the game missing key components of any Silent Hill game and replacing it with new mechanics that might not all work and because of that people dismiss it as garbage. I for one gave it a chance and while I didn't get the same pleasure as that of let's say Silent Hill 1,2,3 honestly if you don't look at this game as a silent hill game and rather a horror game then man it changes everything. For a 2007 game it was way ahead of it's time and I prefer this game to most Silent Hill games ( *Dead stares at Downpour* ) but that's just my own opinion anyway
Agree. If else i would even suggest that this game is a good SH in terms of story, themes of bloodline , family, children sacrfices (despite some shit like UFO ending , Pyramid head e.t.c.). At least they tried to do something new rather than blindly trying to coppy 2(Downpour) but with bad combat, soundtrack, performance .
Honestly the main issue i had with it was the gameplay and combat, i lost count of how many times i got stunlocked to death and died to stuff that honestly wasn't my fault
My only problem with the game is that I simply couldn't play it. I had 3 different discs back in the day and each version of the game would crush at the same place at the very start of the game
One of the most tormented and haunting tunes Akira ever wrote. To understand the lyrics, you have to play the game, tho.Brilliant,as always. As for Mary, that woman can sing almost everything.Knowning she's not a professional singer, but voice actress, that's commentable.Greedings from Greece.
Sadly this was a short silent hill game but i did enjoy it a lot however the combat was extremely unfair and it seemed like the game development was rushed
@@li_B4shar_il Other than that I still dug it a lot. Played it multiple times and got all the cheevos on 360. It wasn't too easy or too hard either. Felt fair in that regard... But yeah... It did feel a bit rushed sadly. And combat is a joke... The knife is by far the best weapon. So much so that it makes you wonder why the game has ANY other weapons lol. Good story telling experience though for a horror game. It's totally not up there with part 1-3 but it's worth checking out I'd argue : ) LOVE this song though. Mann she's got a voice that gels super well with the artists guitar and horror based themes.
Maybe it's just me for growing up with the originals, but aside from the OST, it was a miss for me. Story felt like a hodgepodge of random SH tropes sewn together. And the puzzles were just...nothing. I mean fuck the last time I cranked up SH3 on highest difficulty I made a fool of myself on the very first puzzle, with the Shakespeare plays. Had to bust out the Google like a pleb. But I can't remember a single character from Homecoming except that absolute madlad mayor lady with the power-drill lmfao. But I'll *never* forget Angela, or Mary, or James from SH2. I doubt all of gaming history will ever forget those characters.
when my brain told me "silent hill" when I hadn't laid my hands on it for 12 years, the only song I could remember was this. now I finally found it thanks
Still one of my favorite Silent Hill games. I know many don’t like the direction the new company took the franchise but I thought it had a lot of good points and enjoyed playing it.
As the one who has an older sister in a family who loved you more than her, After I played the game can hardly imagine the pain she bears with all these years It's, sad, just, sad.
I'm an older sibling who could not be more thankful for his sister so I really connected with Alex during my first time playing the game recently. Despite the hate it gets, I think the game is fantastic.
It's amazing how this sound snores with the mention of the Shepherd, Bartlett, Flitch and Holloway families. This makes more sense when you follow the lores during the game and check the mentions in the song. It matches perfectly with the premise of what happened and happens during the plot of this Sillent Hill.
Silent Hill: Homecoming’s soundtrack is easily my favorite of the non Team Silent games and one of my favorites overall. Akira and Mary Elizabeth are a dynamic duo.
The game implies Alex was already born with a mental disturbance (which only got worse after losing Josh), but I think what mental disturbance is going to depend on how you play with him through out the game. It can be "Peter Pan syndrome" (Hospital ending), Anti-social disorder (Pyramid Head ending), or my condition, which is Asperger (Good and "Drown" endings). After all of this, I like to believe the canon ending is the "Drown". I don't think it was all a dream in that ending. I think a miracle was performed. One similar to when the original Goddess was born through the Man and the Woman's prayer.
I cant believe this video got so few views, it deserves a lot more :) But I have to admit, I visit this video almost everyday, to enjoy every second of it. Great (y) ^^
*TRIVIA:* *At first when Alex gets off the stretcher, there's a clock in that room. It's the only clock in the game that seems to work, it wasn't even two o'clock in the morning yet. then there's an entity that's killing the doctors of the place, and when the protagonist tries to escape at 2:06 in the morning (time of the accident) something doesn't let him out of Alchemilla. so the nightmare begins within the nightmare, from there time's stopped and everything takes place in alex's childhood in S.Glen in the 80's. you'll see objects from alex's childhood scattered around the scenarios, and also relics such as old cars and public heritages. in this case this game is timeless.. (however there're endings where he actually escaped from Hospital)* *When you arrive in S.Glen, next to Dr.fitch's office there's the city bank with 4 lights on, 3 of which're bright and the last one's almost off (symbolizing the 4 families). Suggesting that the bank's still active with secret meetings, throughout the game the building remains linked with people on the premises arguing who knows what. It's one of the mysteries of the game that everything's abandoned but the financial part of the city's still in full swing! kidnappings have become a kind of business...* *if you look at alex's house from the outside, it's empty giving the impression that the shepherds have moved but when you enter the house, it's fully furnished but completely abandoned (the mirrors still reflect no furniture inside). looking through the backyard in the kitchen part this becomes more apparent (giving a paranormal air of the house being an ancestral ghost of the city).* *the woman locked in the hotel can also be the manifestation of alex's mother living in the world of the dead and him living in the world of the living, both're separated by a hole in the door that looks like the mouth of a monster. the 3 memories illustrate "the day of the accident" and why his mother was catatonic, it's implied that she committed suicide with that old gun and alex's at his doorstep talking to her. there're layers of SH that you can only reach if you're dead.. (there're also indications that it was curtis who built the machine that Lillian is trapped in, then it's possible to see his mother's corpse smiling.. of relief perhaps)* *in the dr.fitch office there's an underground passage that leads to SH, this otherworld passage's the mix of a hospital and the institution that alex's in at the beginning of the game. some hallways're the same as the protagonist walks in the prologue. It's also more apparent that Alex's exploring the characters' minds and their memories\secrets..* *this game starts in the late afternoon and culminates in a red dawn, it's notable that there's a change of climate similar to the original games. it was the first time anyone came out during the otherworld outdoors, alex was the only protagonist who saw the parallel world from the outside.* *There're Alex's toys locked in the attic of the house (also in the audio of the tape, Alex's father tells him to "go down the stairs") implying that Alex was locked in the attic and forced to sleep alone there (a dark place full of spider webs and venomous animals) in the infernal version, there're 4 monsters that represent each member of the family (in the attic there're 3 schism which're the dead Josh, the catatonic mother and Alex crouched in the corner of the attic) and in the lower part of the house there're the more aggressive schism who is alex's father. What confirms this symbolism're the four mannequins that're in the same position (including one lying down and the other propped up in the corner).* *if you analyze the drawings and read the descriptions, it's understood that there's an urban legend in S.Glen related to the lake (that's why the docks gate's sealed) by an alleged man who threw himself into toluca lake years ago, this story was told to scare the local children and this collective fear manifests itself as the executioner that exists in the game. So in the part where alex's with josh at the lake, james's still decomposed there in the depths and on the other side of the lake's possibly the abandoned car with a dead body locked in back seat. James' wife belongs to the same family tree as Alex (The Shepherds) although they're not related (in a promotional diary: Alex's mother was invited to attend a funeral for a childhood friend, but the funeral never took place) There's a misterious tomb named "someone's wife" in the Dargento Cemetery, but this grave has never been used. (The shepherd family mausoleum is not found in S.Glen, only the other 3 families. However, there's an abandoned mausoleum in central SH)* *Next to Curtis' junkyard's an abandoned mine that possibly became a secret passage to SH in the final stage of the game. The lair was where people were taken to be tortured and killed by order. it's located in the basement of the church, the only sacred place in the city where it's not affected by the other world. In Curtis' warehouse, many belongings of everyone who lived in the city're hidden and also the special clothes that Curtis wore.* *There're x-rays in alchemilla that show injuries that the protagonist suffered at the end of the game (including the brother and judge) means that this game's upside down: it starts at the end and ends at the beginning, if you reverse the acts, it's alex going from the day of the accident to the hospitalization in alchemilla in the prologue. crazy huh? (Travis was tasked with transporting the patient since he was familiar with Toluca County and worked at Brahms Station, Alex's parents lied to the city that he was promoted to the army so they wouldn't lose their last son) still characteristic the journey starts in a way and turns into a whirlwind.. there's a real pyramid involving judges, politicians, doctors and police forces\dynastic families (as if everything happens in our world and not just in a nightmare).* The layers of Alex personality are represented by fog (sadness) and coming from the other world (hatred esentment), how he feels at every moment depending on what's discovered evealed. This game is introspective as f00k! more than it seems...
It really bothers me that the "Death. To the living. The flame has no living heart." part is not the chorus, nor is it ever repeated. The current chorus should have been a bridge or a second chorus maybe. Still, a great tune.
[Verse 1] If there's any thought Better think of me For a little support At a time of need It'll be a, "No, not a chance" [Verse 2] Try to head to town Can't see or hear Kill communication Steppin' off the grid Just to let me know So maybe cut my ties [Chorus] Been there before Love this winter breeze Somebody's blood Shot down on his knees Take what you learned and what you need
Man this brings back memories. This is my first sh series for pc and i like this song. Didn't know if I'm idle too long on main menu cutscene and this soundtrack will play. During that pyramid head scene passing by i got chills.
True. But this game definitely deserves a second chance; same with Downpour. Silent Hill 1 first, but no Silent Hill 2 remake! Reception won’t be good no matter what.
1 is perfect as it is. Best not to tamper with it. 2 has room for improvement, but less is more imo. 3make is gonna be off the chain when they do it, looking forward to that. 4... should probably stay as it is. Homecoming is just cursed and good luck breaking it.
I'd love to play sh downpour and homecoming remake. Sh homecoming has control issues. Janky keys, when you set manually it will mess the control etc. Definitely deserve 2nd chance. Still remember I'm having hard time fighting needlers bcs need counter atk precision and on pc it's effing hard bcs of the controls keys.
