+Bottom Glass Cinema So glad you mentioned that about Pyramid Head. As much of an idol as he is towards the series, he doesn't belong in ever Silent Hill adaption. It was a nice short film but his appearance really took away from the experience.

+Andre' Warren Especially considering he wasn't even in the actual demo. And I doubt Kojima would have put him in the full game either. Didn't really understand why he was in this video, and I still don't understand why he was in any of the games besides SH 2. It makes no sense... I love Pyramid Head, but he's a projection of James Sutherland's psyche, and James was only in SH 2. It's straight up fan-service, and totally disregarded the entire idea of SH when they put him in the other games. SH is supposed to be different for each person who goes there, since at it's core, it's a projection of people's inner demons. That's one of the few things I really liked about SH Downpour. For all it's flaws, they finally returned to what SH was supposed to be about with that game...

Alex DeLarge I don't mind him being in this so much because as this is a short film, I don't mind them having some creative ideas expand on the original idea, otherwise it's a little pointless. But it does bother me that they used him simply because introducing an overused and familiar face is so against the theme of the original Silent Hill games and he's not exactly scary anymore because of it.When the film changed locations and ideas is when it actually because more unsettling. We've all played or watched P.T so when we see the school it's no longer as predictable and that's scary. But...when Pyramid head shows up the tension is gone.

+Bottom Glass Cinema I think what I would have done if the pyramid head had to be included, I would have done the heavy booming footsteps (that was perfect) but instead of showing the full pyramid head creature, I would have shown a giant shadow on the ground approaching around the corner with a pyramid shaped head. Shadows are much larger, leave more to the imagination and if the lighting was done properly it would have been a lot creepier. As for the ghost girl with makeup, it's incredibly hard to pull that kind of thing off outside of a video game, while still being as terrifying, and they did about as good of a job as anyone could have done.

I agree and disagree. It hurts, but I think it absolutely hammers in the fact that this is one of the biggest fuckups in history. Letting Kojima know that we still deeply care is great IMO. We can't let it fade away.

The Man Called Sting wouldn't put it past them. Ya know what I think is really weird? Konami could take out Kojima's name and sell this on the store for 5-10$. This was a million dollar demo that made no profit. You'd think they'd see a huge opportunity, because so many want to play it. I still have mine. Also I wonder if the IP for PT is the same IP for silent hills, in technical terms.... If not, Sony should be buy the IP for PT.

Why? They just copied the setting and plot of PT. The real talent is with hideo kojima, his team and Guillermo del toro. I'm annoyed that you'd want to hire the people that made this without giving credit to the people who deserve it.

He's already working with Reedus and DelToro again. Kojima has been going all over the world to find the best tech for his new game. It looks like it's gonna be pretty good.

+Ale DG Actually, Stephen King's The Mist and the films Jacob's Ladder and Session 9 were the big inspirations for Silent Hill. Check them out, if you haven't already. ;)

+rinraiden Though arguably, H. P. Lovecraft did indirectly inspire Silent Hill since he inspired Stephen King into becoming a horror author, and I'm quite sure he's in the back of the minds of the creators of Lacob's Ladder and the ilk as well. Session 9 was also extremely psychological and H. P. Lovecraft and A. E. Poe were definitely precurors to psychological horror, so there's that as well.
