Rabindranath Tagore had composed some songs exclusively for 'Khtistotsab' or Christmas Celebrations at Vishwa Bharati, Shantiniketan. 'Kon Aalote Praner Prodip', 'Ekdin Jara Merechilo' & 'Tumi Amader Pita' are some of them. This Christmas Rabindra Sangeet vocalist Kaustav has tried to create a euphonic bridge between the celebrated Christmas Carol 'Silent Night' composed in 1818 by German poet Franz Xaver Gruber and 'Ekdin Jara Merechilo' composed by Gurudev on 25th December,1939.This is a humble experimental effort without a slightest distortion of the original Tagore composition.
