Euphoria with scarpoolparty was the wildest collab I didn't know I needed. The guy was runner up on American Idol and now he's collaborating with my fav Metalcore band. Insane.
YES. Alejandro was such a a pleasant surprise on this album. The SoCal boys do all know each other 😂 I'm honestly so grateful he didn't win American Idol - means he was able to do what he wanted after the show.
In case you didn’t know, the chorus is done by Alejandro Aranda aka Scarypoolparty. Check out his Doom Hologram album for his metal side. But that dude is mega talented all around
Euphoria, Dreamwalker and Nexus are Fire 💥💥💥 But the rest is also good with softer Songs The Overgrowth and SUPERBLOOM. I don't know which Album is better, Invent Animate or this😚😚😚
Oh wow, an entire album reaction. I'm definitely going to have to check this one out since I just discovered them as well. Antimatter was an amazing song. I tried to see of you did a reaction to Deadlands- House of Cards, but nothing came up. I think you would like that song. Imo, you're one of the most genuine reactors on RU-vid. You _feel_ the music, and that's what's it all about. And also, I would love to see your reaction to band called, Anaal Nathrakh, maybe check out one of their top songs? Their main genre is Black Metal, but for me, they are one of the most extreme forms of metal I've ever heard!
Can we all agree 2023 is the best year for prog metal release ? Periphery, Invent Animate, Silent Planet, Veil of Maya, Sleep Token, Currents, Polaris and I'm forgetting a bunch. Crazy year ! For me, all its missing is Erra ! But that would 2024 ?
An amazing album by Silent Planet! I've literally enjoyed every single track from start to finish, and that's not being a huge fan of them before this. Just pure art! Thank you for checking this out! Euphoria and Superbloom must be my favourites besides the released singles. I love how Offworlder just went straight into DOOM mode after the second chorus and bridge. A perfect ending!
Glad I stumbled across your channel. Nothing overhyped or schticky, just a genuine reaction of someone fully feeling the music. Also, that title track is a soundscape masterpiece of a finale. Perfectly sculpted, enveloping and ethereal. I cant stop repeating it.
Nexus is insane. The entire song, lyrically and musically, being an homage and referencing the second album multiple times, makes my skin cover in goosebumps every fucking time. Love this band to death, such an incredible album.
Beautiful album. The layering on each track is brilliant and whoever mastered it did an insane job. Can't take for granted when an album this good comes along!
I was very impressed with this album! The synth throughout the album really adds to it and fits very much with my style! Euphoria is definitely my favourite track from the album, possibly has chorus of the year for me! The only track I won't really revisit is the closer (which I know you loved) just isn't really my thing. This will definitely fit somewhere in my top 10 this year, will need to do a lot of updates to that list!
That album is such a gem!!! I've preordered it after Annunaki, and i was so hyped until today! Now i'm just happy that i can listen it!!! I can't stop thinking about the songs!!
Definitely a heck of ride for sure! This is why I always listen to albums front to back. Albums like this lend themselves to this well for sure. Grows on me the more I hear it and understand it. Great to hear Garrett continuing to improve his vocals (especially continuing to utilize his sing/pitched screams, but even more his cleans, so emotive especially on that closer; such a different way and feeling to a closer than they've had before at the end, whereas maybe a song like Overgrowth would've closed it before). That last outro feels so SENT as the guys in I See Stars and Erra would say (sent from outer space). I miss Thomas for sure, bass wise and especially his vocals (always loved his higher singing, inspiring to me in my practice, and added a great contrast/dynamic to the band vocally), but great progresion nonetheless considering. Great to hear Mitch singing still too, and Nick? (in Euphoria, unless thats Garrett or Mitch). So many influences being shown in this one that remind of other bands like Loathe, Meshuggah, Deftones, Northlane, and Vildhjarta/HLB. Loved all those references/callbacks they dropped in Nexus too, such as to Everything Was Sound (we inherit the earth, we inherit the war; I inhabit the wound, I dwell in the harm etc. Theres many more just in that song alone, kind of their nerd back-catalog song of this album to reward fans who know theyre past stuff well).
definitely agree with all of this! it's actually not Mitch or Garrett singing in Euphoria's chorus, that's a feature from Alejandro Aranda! but Garrett has really stepped it up with his singing on this record, I'll be excited to see where he goes with it. Choruses like The New Eternity, Second Sun, Firstborn, etc are some of my favorites ever and obviously that is mainly because of Thomas' voice but I will always be able to go back to those tracks. big fan of the callbacks as well!
I didn't even know the album came.out today until couple hours ago! I thought it was just another single. I looked in the description on video and didn't mention date so I asked. I was soooo surprised and happy when I seen it dropped!!!
Great reaction! Such a transformative album. Setting a high standard! I’m not certain, but I believe Nick Pocock is the bassist on this album, and as much as I love Thomas Freckleton, the addition of Nick to Silent Planet was such an important move by these guys! He is phenomenal in ISOS, and now his low-end in this album is top-tier! Long Live Silent Planet 🤘
"The lows are lowin'," agreed! Addictive album, which is nothing new from SP. They've really expanded their sound with this. Collider's my favorite from the singles, pretty much set in stone. For the non-singles, I gotta listen some more as it's a hard fight amongst 'em. Thanks for the video!
i knew there was something familiar about that track but didnt know what it was until someone pointed it out. read the lyrics and it clicked, one of my favorites on the record now for sure
Hey Rachel, first i want to thank you for all your reviews... most of them fit from my point of view. But i can't agree on your opinion about the new Silent Planet album. It is well prodcued, but the good ideas are missing. It's more a Doom-Soundtrack with vocals. The last album "Iridescent" was a maszerpiece: more ideas, breakdowns, variations (vocals & instruments) etc. Not everything new is better... ;-) Keep up you great work!
The title track is loathing and deftoning so gorgeously, and then they invent and animate and then they make us suffer. And it's still Silent Planet... So good.
not really a big fan of silent planet, but, this album is reconstructing my mind. this album is too catchy! i find myself blending song lyrics with other songs. this is just short of a masterpiece of an album. some songs even sound like some songs i have heard before from different bands but with a fresh twist. 9/10. Edit: personally, i think Invent Animate's Heavener album set me up to like this album.
I hope it grows on you, it's a very emotional and beautiful song, but I can understand it not being a favorite for some more into the heavier stuff Which song was your favorite?
