Real MVP's are the map makers. As long as there is good content gamers will game. Amazing maps, music and compilation overall. I hope this community never dies.
I have learned about Q3 defrag last year! Hard to believe, but I was unaware of such a scene exists! I am happy to see Q3 as a totally different game. There is a ton of great videos on YT. It looks smooth and simple, but I have no doubt, skills require an insane amount of practice.
Like always im in love with this. This is beyond watching a video. Its a full experience. A journey to another world. Defrag speed combined with chillin' music is trippy. Love it!

I consider it a masterpiece of game movie. I watched it at night , with headphones on. Truely mystical experience for me. Kind of being dead and looking for another body in Purgatory/Limbo dimension. The body. you can rebirth into. A paradox of freedom and captivity with self reflexion presented by environmental changes. I love it !
i was smoking a fat one and i was playing cpma and this was playing and the round was over and i'm in the loading screen when i suddenly hear HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH! i thought for sure i was hallucinating that i was still hearing the hops when they weren't there it didn't really feel all that bad so fucking high thanks for the vid
Quake 3 was released Decemebr 1999. So in 2017 almost any PC can run it at high quality. Some maps are very large and detailed, but you can reduce the level of detail in the console and so, as I said, even laptops have no real problems running it smoothly.
Well, that's not what you asked initially. ;) Defrag is a mod for Quake 3. Many maps include new textures. make sure you set your in-game quality options to high. Some of the lighting and explosion effects have been enhanced in post-production/editing of the video.
If you have the game engine installed (ioquake), then you add the iDFe.x64.exe application, pak hqq 3.6, high resolution textures and hd weapon textures that can be downloaded on Discord, you get the same effect as on the movie;), I am looking for the texture of battle suit and quad damage from this movie;)

pgb: plasma gazboost / groundboost. Theresinfo on it around google, a pretty cool bug (and really hard to get consistent at) to exploit on defrag speedruns :)
