Hey guys! Do not buy this model. It isn't compatible with Macs. I have had to jump through hoops getting this to work between my boyfriend's pc and my mac, and after going back and forth with their support team they have basically left it at "well we have no other options to try". So that's it. Going to go with another brand and spread the word to hope another small business doesn't fall for this scam. Check out what others are saying on reddit, I am not the only one.

I cut a lot with leftover vinyl scraps and I can't figure out how to align them on the mat and the settings to use so that the machine will cut exactly how I place it on the mat. Can you give me tips please?

You're overthinking this. The cut width on the previous Portrait machines is also 8". The Silhouette Studio software does not allow you to cut to the edge of an 8.5" sheet. The cut boundaries show in the software.

Cherry_ Blossomtv amen to this comment! I have two cricuts, an air 2 and a maker and both are craptastic at stickers, always cut slightly off edge. For this reason I’m getting the portrait 3 for my sticker needs as silhouette has better precision for stickers. and I’ll continue to use my cricuts for vinyl and other materials.

@@mandyajel I have cricuts and silhouettes and I only cut stickers with my silhouettes and everything else on my cricuts....only con i have with silhouette is their poor customer service :(

It seems Silhouette gets NO love from local craft stores Michaels and Joann. :-( How hard is it to find supplies for this machine? Do I have to buy everything online? Great channel!

You can find things in local craft stores, but it's MUCH less expensive to order online. I would recommend Swing Design.

What would you like to use it for? Just for paper n vinyl the 3 will work just fine, if you want to do fabric and light wood then camo 4. I agree cricuit not good good

Cricut isn’t the best for stickers although it does great once you figure out the idiosyncrasies. But it’s awesome for everything else. It’s a great machine. But if you just want to do stickers a Silhouette is better especially since most printables you buy on Etsy etc come in that format.

I just got this machine and find it rather loud- is it supposed to be loud? It almost sounds like something is wrong but the videos I’ve watched it sounds the same. I thought it would be quieter!

Yes the camo 4 can do lots more then this one. Its smaller lighter then camo. The camo 4 is better. This one can just do paper and vinyl. Not for fabric or wood.

Cricut comes out with the joy so siloutte comes out with portrait 3 but the release date of the cameo 20" has never been confirmed, and it's almost the end of the year, this machine is pointless and so it's the joy...

So agree no point on 2 redink machine come on. Give us something good thats worth it, not go backwards with small machine that don't do hardly nothing compared to the new machine that put out. Smh

Check her Videos. She did a video on the pro she has it and it is on pre order. It is no longer a 20” it is actually a 24”. The Portrait has been around long before Cricut ever thought of the Joy. This machine is very popular with those that make sticker sheets because it allows them to have multiple machines without requiring a lot of space.

I just bought this machine. I have a cameo 4, but this is perfect for me to have in my motor home. I do lettering for race cars . The Cameo 4 is wonderful, but space is premium in my situation. So it is NOT worthless.
