Welcome to Silica, hope you guys enjoy what i've been putting out!!!
Today im showing you a live playthrough of one of the larger maps, i keep seeing people ask about getting the Alien faction up and running, Micro management and getting towards defending your eco and making sure those little shrimps are safe, here ill show you how to quickly get up and running!!
RTS x FPS x C&C Renegade style game with amazing visuals
The game has just come out in early access and is available on Steam!!!
I will 100% be playing this a lot more with friends and also in online play in the days/months to come and follow the journey this game takes to full release.

A good tip is to immediately rush out 3 eggs, and then assign them to build 5-6 shrimps each. this can jump boost your eco. Plus, there is something I call Locust swarms. Specifically, you treat shrimp as one gargantuan control group. they go into the desert, literally devour 1 node all at once under guard from your regular units, and then seek the next food source. As well, creating hives can provide some static security.

Hey, I know you're discussing what you're doing, but I'd say you should always be spreading nodes. For vision and future expansion. Expand any way, so when you're ready to build up you can.

Pretty much rule number one for alien commander in Natural Selection 2, It allows you to build buildings and gives vision to the commander, which is very important.

One of the good old games that dabbled into the fps strategy genre is Battlezone (1998), and one that did a stellar job at it from a 3rd person perspective was Sacrifice. Thanks for all the tips and tricks so far. It would be nice to get a compilation of weak points and armor on vehicles when people figure stuff out.

My favorite way to counter early game buggies is with the hunter. Using sand dunes u can safely get close and just get slappppp happy lol

I was driving a harvester, because they keep getting stuck when the AI is running them, and I got attacked by two siege tanks. Crashed into one of the tanks with the blades going and that took out like a quarter of it's health. Got blown up by the other tank, but I went down fighting

Good old AI harvesters 😂 they sometimes work, they sometimes don't, harvesters crash damage is insane, sometimes you get to experience your own harvesters killing each other trying to drop off the goods.

If they can get the pathfinding worked out, I think this game could be in the running for my favorite game. Blends RTS and FPS perfectly I think. Every other hybrid I've played seems to focus on one or the other and just sprinkles the other in

I've seen some Alien gameplay now and I wonder if it would be more beneficial if the ranged Scorpions don't have a machine gun tail, but instead a single shot tail that can be charged up to increase dmg, and armor piercing to deal with both infantry and light vehicles (small Scorpion) as well as heavy and super heavy vehicles (big Scorpion). The Big Scorpion could also get or have acid bullets/shells, dealing damage over time or reducing the armor of a vehicle permanently. (Until it's repaired)

Bought the game, thought it was great, well I would think it would be great if the lag was not so horrible... At first I thought it was my rig, but then I realized other people have worse rags than me and they're getting great frames. Then I discovered there were server issues. And then I verified everything sign back in smooth game for like 5 seconds until everything went down to crack. I really want to love this game but they really should have truly tested and did some serious pressure testing on their servers. Because right now it's damn near unplayable.

Server issues? There are no server. The games are self hosted.

I'm really struggling with this. Especially if you don't find any bio spots early, you can really be set back. It's a hard balance to find.

Intro video mentioned that humans "discovered" portal technology and showed some ancient alien structure. Perhaps the portal builders or their machines will be their own faction? Maybe that's their focus, making massive armies and sending them through portals you can build near the enemy base?

I dont get how to gather reserouces I click the resource point but hten they just stop and it says they dont have orders

Make sure you have a bio cache built so they can drop off the resources, hope that helps

No the resources run out and as far as I can tell there's no match settings so you can't change it

As humans Railgun Tanks or rocket trucks, or as aliens, crab swarm, or alot of scorpions

@Lycan MB I mean that would work if they had only siege but if they have a mix then you really can't win because you get obliterated. Crabs don't do enough damage as well
