The effect of the druzy insert is amazing. The molds are expensive to purchase. Beyond the original investment these could be easily redone with just the mold making silicone. I love that you did it and shared. Thank you.

Fantastic video Petra, you're the only person to share how to make the druzy mold. I made mine with pieces of mirror glass but it took forever to get them out of the druzy mold, I might just try this way next time I need them. Be quick to add this green to your etsy store it's gorgeous. The coasters look beautiful 💖💖

Yes, the Twinkling Forest is a great metallic dark green color. I'm waiting for the photo's, after that I will add it to my Etsy store.

This is much appreciated! I bought some inserts, but have wanted to learn how to make my own for some time. I bought some broken glass, and had thought about using it, but...Anyway, love this,as I do all your work!

Love your Videos, thank u so much for sharing with us- I picked up some Alum n didn’t realize it was Alum Powder n not salt(crystals) I’m wondering if I wi get the same results- I will do it 2 ways n update my comment. I will do it using the Alum powder just like u did n the other way I will make Alum Seeds n use those just like u did (hoping I can get a bunch of small salt size crystals to use has the salt base.. I’m also sure it will take longer to get the results I’m looking for with the powder since there is not formation in powder...
Pigment paste is highly pigmented and has a honey consistency. Mice pigment is a powder and is very shimmery. Pastes are heavier in resin then mica pigments. I like to use both to create different effects.
I failed miserably at this, use the alum you recommended, but not the plastic containers, I used a lid did not work. I do have a question, on the second and third round that you use the alum is the water still hot or you let it cool down? Thanks, your work is mesmerizing.
So sorry to hear that Ana. Can you tell me what didn't work? Yes, the water needs to be hot, otherwise you will not grow crystals. Also when you put the lid back on you don't want to close it, because there still needs to come air in the container.
Amazing job, well done. I have a question about the end, do you fill the gap where you took out the druzy insert with clear resin or do you leave that bit hollow? X
