Silicone rubber mold making is one of the easiest way to make mold of any type of objects or showpieces. Here in this video we have used silicone mold make beautiful resin table décor. If you have some time to spend then you are able to make very easily.
How to make silicone rubber mold
First get the object ready. Take a plastic container and pour the required silicone rubber liquid to it.
.Then add catalyst on top of silicone rubber liquid. Mix thoroughly.
(Please read the description of the silicone rubber liquid provided by the company.)
Apply the mixed silicone rubber liquid to the object as shown in the video. Here i have used beautiful container.
Once dried, to protect the shape of the mold we have made a outer cover for the silicone mold using plater of paris. In the video you can see two piece plaster of paris cover we have made.
Resin casting
Mix the epoxy resin , catalyst and pigment in a container. Pour to silicone rubber mold as shown in video. After half dry, place a plastic cup on top resin and add some weight to cup this is to prevent it from floating. Then pour the epoxy resin through the gap of the rubber mold and plastic cup. Please watch the video.
Once dried demold the object. If you want to get better result do some sanding using sanding paper.
