Dean there must be types of silicons available that doesnt degrade with resin, as the molds you can buy for coing silicone soap dishes or orbs and the like dont degrade. I have done some resi coasters and shapes and those molds dont deteriate at all. Such a pain for you to have to keep making your molds
The silicone your talking about is different to the silicone I use. I have looked around for it but can't find it. I think they use big heat press machines/molds to make them.

I’m watching your shop for when these soap log splitters go on there, but I’m now also wondering if you do custom silicone moulds for slab type boxes? I’ve been given some awesome wooden boxes and would love one or two silicone moulds made but would know how to make one.
Hi Chrissie, I have one splitter on pre-order and another one will be put online hopefully tomorrow. Regarding the slab molds, I do 1 size wooden mold ( 32cm long, 19cm wide, 8.9cm tall ) but no silicone molds. Currently it's just to expensive and they would need to be done 1 at a time. So for now - just the wooden molds that split down the center.
There is an Aussie you-tuber called Pouring Your Heart Out I follow who makes her own silicone moulds for her resin stuff like coasters and plates. It might be worth reaching out to her and se if she can help or give any tips, as she uses the moulds over and over and I haven't seen them degrading.
You need a better silicone mold kit, the dragon skin 20 or you can get the dragon skin 10 which is a trial size for 41 one is really good, it's 45 for the dragon skin 20 which is a kit and has the 2 parts and it is very very strong, I have many friends that use it to sell resin molds as a living
@@DeanWilson I mean I understand you're usually using you know your molds for soap and that's definitely Lester rosov or yeah erosive I hope that's right but when it comes to resin I mean it is a pretty harsh chemical even if you get the low odor and low VOC, but yeah that Dragon skins I hear a lot of really good things about it it is a little bit more pricey than the other silicone mold making kit by the same brand but this stuff is extremely hard to rip tear and it stands up to the resin compound very well I just wanted to give a helping hand I know you don't use your molds a lot for a resin so hopefully you would get your money's worth and back overtime cuz like I said I think it's like $45 for the dragon skin 20 and for the trial box kit or whatever it's called dragon skin 10 and that one's $41 but if it doesn't get eaten up by the resin by the third you say I mean I think it's worth the money anyways I've been rambling on and on and on now I hope it works for you very well it is on Amazon I am in the states your in Australia so it might be a different price I'm not sure how that works
