thx so much for sharing, very helpfull, My new pc can handle this patch, yesss, what preset you use on the echoboy, is it full wet? I send an email for the samples, thx!!
i really wish you could recreate "Folding Space" in this program, i dunno if they have all the modules for free for it; but i'd pay 5$ for an infinite run of that mix. helps having something non-intrusive in the background while i'm forced to do every aspect of life from home.
This is a beautiful patch State Azure! - just wanted to check if you are familiar with the track settings in the MM mixer (right click the editable track labels to access track settings menu). You can set input gain and add High Pass and Low Pass Filters on every track and add fade automations which would make those manual fade ins you are doing easier. With fades turned on, the mute buttons become fade buttons and you can leave the fader in it's 'final' position and set fade in/out time from 0.1 to 30s and set the fade curve (log/lin/exp). There is also a stereo width control for stereo tracks (you can go down to mono or up to 200%).
Thank you, Steve! Great work on that mixer, I love it. Really appreciate those tips, especially for the fades, that will definitely come in handy in the future!
There are loads of patches at patchstorage.com/platform/vcv-rack/ - well worth looking through - these will help anyone interested learn the technical side and techniques used. I note in the above patch that 3 sample players are being used - this is not that unusual - but shows the depth of preparation that is needed to produce this genre - typically samples are used for Pad/Drone/Beds etc. VCV is highly addictive - and you can spend hours just deriving into a single module - learning every aspect.
@@mcolville My pleasure, Matthew! If you require the samples I used send me an email. There doesn't seem to be a way to embed samples in the patch and I don't really know where to host extra stuff like that.
I appreciate a lot your approach: you are making electronic music with pleasure indipendendly of the used gear and if it's hardware or software. This is also prooving your experience. Nice mood, nice music and a good start to 2021. Well done and Happy new year!
Just shows how technical and musical talent, with time and motivation, can span across any medium and produce wonderful results. Respect. Inspirational.
Happy new year to all of you This is amazing man , first track in VCV :) This only shows how good you must be with the real stuff I hope to hear from you in 2021 as much as i did in 2020 You are a source of inspiration to most of us here i guess Best wishes for 2021
Beautiful. Such complexity and flow. Very efficient use of VCV to make such a cohesive song. I'm always having to mix down and play the previous parts back in a new patch when I try to make full songs or my computer bogs down.
And I love it! It's on my big screen today while working at home. Happy New Year to you. I wonder what your view is on VCV rack vs eurorack. Don't forget to save Test1.vcv ;)
Amazing. You seem to have no boundaries. Switching to software at ease 😁. Sounds great and also thank you for sharing the patch. This useful since i always wonder how you create these lush sequences. Thanks buddy 💪🏽
This is amazing. I would love to see what we could learn if you made such a patch with free modules. I really wish there was a way to visualize this with a system diagram/flow chart to understand how it works.
I have literaly no idea how this is playing and ive been into electronic for years.. very little experience wt VCV, 0 on real modular.. But this sounds full lush and beautiful. I could never wrap my head arround on controling so many modules at the same time. I can do it on bitwig and live but this... is another realm. Cheerz
That's pretty much the main reason for why I downloaded VCV Rack. It's free, and a whole ton of modules are free, too. It is a perfect way to learn about modular synthesis without spending money all over the place.
@@JustinJadunath well, the thing is im a bit of a control freak. If i cannot map to macros or midi controlls directly i get lost quickly. Also the beta of vcv at the time, wasnt exacty easily mapable to controlers to say the least. Im used to mouse and keyboard but, the difference in workflow was just to staggering for me.
@@teknastyk It’s a lot easier than you may think - There are Midi to CC modules that achieve what I think you are looking for. These are paid for modules but not that expensive. Worth check out the VCV community.
thank you. it is a real pleasure to listen to this piece. Especially thank you for sharing the patch. As a beginner VCV Rack user, i can learn a ton from it. thanks again
Hi my friend, is that the DAW mixer at the top of it all? And are you using external effects or just what comes with software? I'm looking at the freeware version with an interest to see if it's for me.
No DAW was used at all, the mixer is part of VCV rack, though I can't remember if it was free or paid for. It's called Mixmaster by Mind Meld. I used external FX plugins Valhalla Shimmer and Soundtoys Echoboy via the Host-FX modules. You can do everything you need with just the free modules!
