In this video, I’m using a silver-white, paper-backed silk available here: www.blueheronarts.com/Paper-backed-Silk-for-Gongbi-Chinoiserie-Gelatin-free-Sized-p-4530.html . Sometimes, the surface of this silk may resist paint due to various factors. If you encounter this beading issue, simply rub a bit of baby powder onto the silk using a dry cotton ball. This quick fix helps the paint adhere more smoothly.
Some other tips to share with you, I dry-mounted the silk paper on a heavier backing paper with silicone heat-activated adhesive to keep it smooth during wet wash. You may order silicone paper here: www.blueheronarts.com/Silicone-Paper-for-Dry-Mounting-26-5W-cut-to-order-by-the-yard-p-28.html
For the initial sketch I used a friction heat erasable pen and removed the drawing with a hair dryer: amzn.to/484ZHeV
