Depends on what material you have in the silo, but for fine-grained powders such as flour, sugar etc. is definetely better to use the siperm installation.

Unfortunately, the optimum angle of the silo hopper is strongly dependend on the combination of wall surface and material stored in the silo. Since it is the most important feature making the operation of a silo realiable there is a bunch of work done about determining the right hopper angle. Look for anything related to "Jenike Method" to learn more about it.

Has anyone had experience with bulk TiO2 or Talcum Powders by chance? I am certain this fluidization would be necessary for us to allow the product to flow properly.
