Hey dan, How do you use CA accelerator between every layer without any bubbling or whiteness? I find that even when I use a fine mist it tends to garner much worse results even after sanding and polishing

Hi man first off have to say I'm loving your work 💪 awesome stuff. I really want to give this try myself! Just wondered what tools you'd recommend as an absolute bare minimum to be able to make a ring similar to the one in this video?

Haha I love the use of super glue, goes to show you don't need to needlessly buy expensive finishes and glues to get a beautiful result. Great video.

Is it possible to do a ring like this one but with two different birth stone like (if there is a black opal) and blue turquoise?

Absolutely amazing video mate. Love it. Loved the shot of it spinning at the end. Do you think it’s ok to do the ca finish on the lathe?
@ZebranoWoodCraft
@ZebranoWoodCraft 5 лет назад
Ring Making cheers! Yeah man you could finish it on the lathe, you might struggle with the edges though. I do it this way as I’m just stuck in my ways haha

Zebrano Wood Craft hahha yeah. I’ve got some black ring liners with a thin coat of black on it and I have been trying to wrap wood around it without sanding the paint of. Do you have any tips for this?

Hey! I buy all my precious metals from Cooksongold.com - 0.8mm silver sheet is my personal favourite but you should experiment to see what works for you!

Really nice job. I'm wondering if I could do something similar using a ring in stainless steel with an opal channel like yours? Do I detect a South Wales accent?
@ZebranoWoodCraft
@ZebranoWoodCraft 4 года назад
Haha yes I am a Welshy and grew up in the valleys! I live down by the sea in West Sussex now though (it doesn’t rain as much here!). Yeah you could totally use stainless steel, titanium or any metal safe for jewellery use 👍🏽

Is Koa wood a more difficult wood to bend? I have some Koa veneer im trying to work with but no matter how long I soak it in cold or hot water, I can’t get it to bend without breaking. Is there a more beginner friendly wood type I should try? I know this is a older video but I hoping for some advice. Thanks.
@apollowolff3981
@apollowolff3981 2 года назад
You know what, I’m glad I didn’t get advice. I worked hard to figure out how to make it work for me. I ended up with a beautiful Koa wood ring on my second real attempt (post glue up) following your ‘no power tools no problem’ technique. I thank you very much!

Hi there. I made my first inlay ring recently using Amethyst. When i filed and polished it the inlay down it turned from purple to a grey colour. Do you have any idea why? I thought Amethyst was the same colour right through? Thanks Kev
@ZebranoWoodCraft
@ZebranoWoodCraft 4 года назад
Hey Kev. I’ve never had much luck with Amethyst- I guess it’s just too translucent when it’s crushed. It just goes see through and you lose the beautiful purple colour. Try synthetic opal, or Sugilite of you like that nice purple look 👍🏽

I fail at the ca blue finish. What do you use? The thin glue or the thick?
@ZebranoWoodCraft
@ZebranoWoodCraft 5 лет назад
Goldenwood Jewelry medium thickness is the way to go bro. You can start with a few layers of thin if you prefer but I just stick with medium thickness
@alexgolden8316
@alexgolden8316 5 лет назад
Awesome! Do you use a specific brand like starbond or stick fast? What I’m concerned about is whether using ca glue and an accelerator spray from different brands. Is there a cheaper alternative to the chestnut wood barnishing cream? It’s a little pricey. Thanks!
