i will buy Canadian Silver Maples 2020 and above. Removing milk spots are a nightmare. When people stop buying coins that are prone to milk spots, the manufacturer will do something about it. The solution (during productions) to remove milk spot is, the silver blanks have to go thru Polishing Tumbler before stamping it.

I have no regrets on any of my purchases ( so far ). I regret selling ( even though I made a nice profit ) . I sold vintage 10 oz silver bars and a Mexican gold 50 peso in mint condition. This was before I realized the importance of stacking. It's more about having a store of real value.

I found a nice jewellery auctioneer, i got three pandas, one brittania and a maple for £139. Considering the oandas sell for £35-45 its not a bad deal. Second auction git five Britannia for £130, then a 100g smp bar for £83. Git to know where to look

I totally agree with all you say. I too have a few Pandas and stopped buying them for the reason you mentioned as well as my own form of protest. Most of the fake coins out there seem to come from China so I now refuse to buy anything coming from China. Another problem is sovereign coins in general. They carry a higher premium when you buy them and when you go to sell them, many coins shops don't want to give you much more than melt. Even American Eagles are usually a loss if you bought them more recently when the premiums were high. I do buy coins if the price is right but I usually stick to rounds and junk silver, since I'm more a stacker.

That 1st coin with the gold plating is bad ass and I bet a relative of yours would really cherish that coin and maybe be the start of their stack .

I have grandkids. I stack nothing but Fine Morgan Silver Dollars. When I get the urge to buy one of those High Flouting Coins, no problem, I just give it to them. Don't feel bad I have buy them four at a time.

I stay away from the First Strike coins too. I have one. Won it in a GAW on whatnot. I’m not paying for them. LOL I primarily stick to Constitutional Silver, Sovereign Silver, and 1oz Generic Rounds.

Good points, I can top your First Strike. I have a First Strike Gem BU Silver (ungraded) in an NGC holder which is kind of ridiculous if you think about it.

That ms70 eagle will pay you back in dividends. Yes they cost a little more than a regular eagle but the MS 70, designations will make them a lot easier to sell for a large premium.

I love libertads but can't spend the high prices for the reverse proof version, beautiful coins but ridiculously priced.

I bought a 1st Strike just like that. I was going to bust it out of there and remove the milk spots. Got the coin, fell in love with the milk spot and then passed it on to the grandkids. Got a Raw one, removed the milk spot, gave it to the grandkids to. See how I do that LOL.

may I know usually how many percent the premium over the spot will be the acceptable range for us to buy ? I was collecting some silver bar but the premium was almost 50% higher than the spot price ... so im wondering is that worthy or a silly move for me . thanks for your advice in advance .

I agree with the gold plated coins. They look beautiful and you want to add them, but way over-priced generally. For modern slabbed coins, is there anything that would be worth paying a premium for?

just paid 360 for a colored 2024 first day of issue Perth swan but i also want see how it holds up in 2044 sometimes you gamble but still have melt price as your hedge.

Think the Chinese thought they could get one over on some folks thinking individuals would see 30 grams as weighing more than an ounce.

The one thing I like and I know im over paying for it so I only do it once in while is the 1/10 oz bars I think they are fun and can me used for trade

Fancy labels are just marketing hype. Buy the coin not the holder. However, rattlers are worth more.

The gilded eagle stuff theres an lcs i took mine too and sold it for 45. Id try a coin show with it.

My goal is to buy rarer silver on normal silver prices, I will pay an extra dollar to get a Panda over a generic buffalo.

I have a gold plated Koala but i paid the normal price. I have over 5000 silver coins and none of it is in a slab. First strike American Eagles are almost unknown where i live (i live in Switzerland).

I have a few boxes of 20ga 4 Shot 3" Magnums, Shot.

I only buy eagles, 90% junk, and generic silver. No capsule, queen, king, paint, COA, box, or considered limited, vintage, or rare. Every ounce is LCS ready without the need to take pics, list, wrap, pack, label, and pay USPS shipping with hopes of no returns. Family doesn't need a lesson on valuable pieces or a spreadsheet. Weight and Liquidity should be the top priorities of every purist stacker. Advice from an old-timer, Keep it Simple!!!
