Yes! My mom and I will be doing a Panama Canal cruise on the Silver Moon next month (December 2021)! I"m really looking forward to it. I'm surprised about the smoking issue. My mom is a lot more sensitive to that than I am. Hopefully it will not be an issue for her. Its surely won't be for me, as I have a high tolerance for those that smoke.
I didn't notice it on Silver Spirit (last month) but thought it was just permitted in the smoking lounge. Has the policy changed in the last two years?
I have to disagree on the secondhand smoke issue. I was on the ship in December, and there was never any issue for my mother or myself with secondhand smoke. That being said, the ship was less than half full, so that may have been the reason that it was not ever a problem for us.
I'm glad it wasn't a problem for you. I believe the capacity was reduced on my Greek sailing too, but unfortunately, the smoking was very prevalent then.
I'd like to add that there weren't very many smoking areas, and most of them had enough separation from the non-smoking areas. It was not difficult at all for us to stay away from those that were smoking.
@@PopularCruising Sad that Silversea doesn't regard the health of the overwhelming majority of the cruisers as more important than the 14% with a very bad habit.
All the reviews for this ship was one sailing round the Greek islands. I am sure the reviewers were given a free cruise to promote Silversea. As it was one cruise I am sure Silversea made sure service levels were at there highest, but with no subsequent reviews it may be that this service level is difficult to maintain.
I am just curious what is the limit on 'all inclusive'. How premium are the bevarage offerings on board? Surely there must be an additional charge if you want to order champagne or a fine wine.
Shame about the smoking, so glad you mentioned this, I don't even like walking past outdoor smoking areas on other cruise ships. I was looking into booking because of the S.A.L.T experience but the smoking means it's a definite no. What is the point of a gastronomic 6* voyage if it's ruined by second had smoke.
