Hardly, but I do wish it were true...so much wishful thinking from silver stackers. Wishful. Watch what really happens when you have trouble spending it. No, I don't like what will happen, but who cares anyway?

Precious medals hold value to account for inflation. They are easily traded, easy to store and don’t need upkeep. The dollar isn’t the thing silver stackers are trying to avoid it’s the inflation of the FED spending. People do this with bitcoin, property etc just some see opportunity in silver due to its easily liquidity and steady trends in market. Basically if the dollar is worthless we are all screwed we will be back in the 1500s but accounting for inflation any way other than letting your dollar rot is great 👍🏻

Britannias are really nice, one of the better looking coins out of the commonly known/bought imo. Don’t buy those crap silver rounds, they look like trash and Britannias premium above spot isn’t nearly as bad as Eagles or others. Only a scrub would buy those cheap looking rounds, a true boss only buys coins from a legit mint that look good. Those generic rounds look like absolute sh*t compared to a Britannia.

very cool vid. i have been stacking silver/gold for 15 years and i started with constitutional silver. im finally making enough money to not worry about paying an extra $4 premium for silver eagles. i must say - they are breathtaking. for me, it is worth the extra cost. personally, i do not like rounds - but i do understand the appeal.

Good video. Most of the youtube videos that I've seen that compare silver rounds vs silver coins VS junk silver don't take into account the spread, which is really important. The historical spread is also important. It is interesting to note that when the silver price was at its most recent high in 2011, the premiums on eagles tended to be baked into the price of silver, that is, the premiums were low. The premiums on sovereigns don't necessarily follow the spot price of silver higher. The premiums on all silver (rounds, bars, sovereigns, coins) go down as the price of silver goes up, historically speaking. The opposite happens with gold.

Fact - We don't know and cannot guarantee who, what, where, when, or even if we are going to be selling our Silver to anyone or anything, so the best option is probably to buy all three. From my perspective, the only thing to determine is how you want to weight your stack of the different types of Silver. Diversity in your stack is your friend and its contrary is your enemy. As an aside, I never get as good a price when attempting to sell any Silver from bullion rounds relative to any major government minted bullion. This is true even for dealers that can actively test the Silver. They don't care. They can re-sell the government minted coins for more than they can move the rounds for. Good video!

Mr. Dragon, first of all THANK YOU for the work you put into each episode. Very informative and very helpful. That said, I’m on a crusade for proper use of the English language. When comparing two things you often use “this vs that.” You (and a humongous number of others) pronounce “vs” as “verse,” I suppose because you’re thinking it’s the singular form of versus, but it’s not. Verse is the singular form of “verse,” a section of a song. Vs has no singular because the real word isn’t a plural…it’s just versus (notice the spelling difference), two or more items being compared or two or more items opposing one another. So when doing those comparisons, it should be “this versus that,” not “this verse that.” Thanks for the time, I’m now stepping down from my soap box.

I only buy rounds and 10oz bars right now. Unless you find someone extremely honest most local shops will barely budge on price when trying to offload. As soon as you show you are knowledgeable they might come up a little for eagles but at the end of the day its all silver and melts down the same. I would definitely experiment with trying to sell some silver before you buy a lot of anything.

Personally I see no use for silver rounds. For SHTF-style direct barter or selling to a coin shop, sovereign coins and pre-64s are most trusted. But if you just want raw ounces to sell back for local currency, you may as well stack 10-ounce bars instead. And why the overemphasis on spread? If the economy crashes so badly that we need to sell our physical silver for necessities, then spot's going to be like $75+ and at that point, a few dollars difference won't matter. The only reason to buy a round is to enjoy the design, like Star Trek or David Bowie or the National Parks or whatever.
@jdb2722
@jdb2722 3 года назад
The emphasis of spread is due to the reality of the sale. Shtf is a dumb reason to buy silver. I wouldn’t trade 5 mre’s for a monster box of ase’s
@chillvibed
@chillvibed 3 года назад
Only thing you buy when it comes to gold and silver is bars and coins. That's it. Even then, nobody will care about them in a SHTF scenario. We don't get rich buying these, it's a store of wealth/fight against inflation/hyperinflation. Its money insurance. Not get rich scheme.

Based on my analysis Silver price per oz was below .50 cents in 1930 Now 91 years was above 40 dolllar per oz price in 2021. That's a compound return of 6.5% year over year, Higher than gold which is 5.6% give or take. Silver is more volatile, and government have never banned the ownership. So Silver for the poor is a good way to go.

If I want to play the silver market then buying a silver miner ETF is a far better play than buying rounds and trying to flip them when silver goes up. Too many dealers and too much middle men eating away any resemblance of profit. I buy sovereign coins for future collectability in addition to silver content. However, compared to other investment vehicles, the dealers really do suck away returns in the form of spread.

Even though there is more of a spread for the rounds now, I am not sure if the junk silver would not be as valuable or more if copper coins pre 1982 shoot up. The rounds seems good but but I am not sure the junk silver will not worth more for the copper and its easier to barter with when dollar dies. at least short term.

My personal experience as a stacker. Pure silver rounds get me more bang for my buck. Because the premiums for purchase are lower. For the same amount of silver that you would get in coins. But coins are good as well, you just have to be careful what you buy. Because some of the coins can have such a higher premium that it's not worth the money. So I have to do research on everything that I buy

It depends on your situation. The old saying "we are onlt 2 pay cheques away from homelessnes" comes to mind. If I hit hard times and had a few rounds stashed away, I would gladly flick a 1oz round across the counter at a hock shop for a $20 (Au) cask of port or wine. Not everyone who stacks silver sits with a green counting cap and a computer in a locked room.
