Silver Surfer was incredible in this film. It was a tragedy he was not in the Infinity Gauntlet movies. But then, they excluded Adam Warlock too.

After all these years, I realize as ‘Galactus’ shadow comes into view it’s in the shape of his helmet. The real Galactus I mean.

I know this movie is no Endgame, and a year before even Iron Man 1...but hearing the name Norrin Radd in theaters as a kid who grew up on these comics and cartoons was an amazing moment.

whoa...if it takes Galactus a few (3) hours to reach Earth from Saturn, (as his flyby is shown in the following clip at the end) that means he travels at 400 million km/hr - many times the speed of light lol. I hope we get a proper Silver Surfer/Galactus movie in the future!

I really hope to see Galactus done better justice in future Marvel movies. He’s one of my favourite villains of all time!

Silver Surfer was never the enemy

I was expecting more from Galactus in Fantastic Four Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007).

He doing the wrong thing for right reason.

When i first Galactus the second he was scary when he approached towards earth and more scary when he was about dine in.

So did Galactus actually eat Saturn, or did it just mess up its rings? I'd think even when all the dust settles, if Saturn is gone that would be a major problem for the solar system

Now that Galactus, just by passing Saturn, has ripped Saturn's rings apart the solar system is already pretty much doomed. The massive gravitational disturbance of something akin to Earth's mass being instantly accelerated to several hundred-thousand kilometers per hour and propelled towards Earth means that the impact craters of Chixculub and similar are going to be tiny molehills compared to what is awaiting Earth.

So I know everyone moans about how they portray Galactus in this film, and I agree it does suck he is just essentially a cloud, but I think there was some legal issue with using his real depiction at the time, if that is true then fair enough. But if you look at the last scene as Galactus's shadow passes Saturn you can actually see the shadow forms the shape of the real Galactus's helmet. Nice touch to be honest and one easily missed, look at 2:28 :)

Hollywood sure can screw up what could have been an amazing film.

Hollywood loved that cgi swirly smoke / dust special effect in the early 2000's. Thor 2, Clash Of The Titans... It wasted quite a lot of movies for me. It's lazy. I hated it. When it represents some kind swarm, like in The Day The Earth Stood Still, that's OK. But when it's just a malevolent, writhing, cloud of evilness, in some kind of sentient, gaseous, state (like here, substituted for actual Galactus), it totally, TOTALLY, sucks!!!
