Swapped out my 23 Silverado Tailgate for a Multiflex tailgate but here is my update. Also have upgraded my rear back up lights as well as license plate lights with Auxito Lights and here is my honest opinion and a savings link for all!

@user-jl6yr7us3r no cause my truck was in the shop for an broken onstar module that controls the stereo and infotainment system but once the module cones in to the dealership I will see if they are able to get it running.... will do an update video very soon.

I picked one of these up in Dallas, my issue was the backup camera input for my tailgate wasn’t the same as the multi. I ended up selling it because no camera is a no go for me these days. Glad you got yours working.

Was yours the IOR 7” screen? Mine is and I just discovered my camera feed in mingled in the main plug. The IOS/IOR HD backup camera has a separate harness for the camera feed. I need a red cardinal red multi-pro from a Silverado Custom or a GMC Sierra Elevation. I now have wasted money and time buying a Denali Multipro gate

Auxito are some good bulbs. Sealight and Oxilam are also very good leds. Everybody on RU-vid are giving such good reviews on lasfit, but I've tried them and they're not near as bright as other brand names.

Im converting my LT to Danali, sorta speak. I've already done the following, Denali Digital Cluster display. Full center console Electric side step Full bed Multi flex cover. 14" full display. The only thing missing is my Denali tailgate.

My mechanic, aka electrical god, fixed my tailgate upgrade. Went from standard tailgate to the multi-flex. It’s a program fix. I’m in Dallas and the shop name is Chachos auto repair. Just ask for Robert.

Pulled my tailgate and put multi-flex gate on my truck. It did not work at first but Robert was able to solve the problem. Gate works like it’s suppose to without any cheesy shortcuts.

Try holding the top button for 5 seconds. Trucks come with a feature from factory to lock the top portion of the tailgate to not hit your hitch. I dont know if this will work on your truck but it’s worth giving it a try.

I’m not mad at you, the manual release is better than not being able for it to drop down period, or in my case not having the flex tailgate at all. I been wanting to get the FTG for my truck & Chevy says It won’t be compatible either. It’s BS! Great job on yours though.

Did you test the button that drops that portion of the tail gate to see if it makes contact and is even working? Could be something simple like that and all you need is to get the replacement button.

Yes.... the button does work it just needs to be programmed, but I'm still trying to figure out how.

Hmm I just watched a video about a new sensor Chevy did that goes on the toe hitch that wont allow you to open the tail gate while there is a ball attached to the truck. Maybe since your truck don't have that sensor it is not allowing it to open at all. Just a thought.@@That-Silverado-Guy

Do you have the part number for the GM Part Number on plastic part you replaced,? Also have you tried wiring the other switch for release hatch to other so they try are both now are know having power from the harness

84680095 is the one I purchased, and I looked into trying to wire the harness for both, but I realized that it would be a pain in the butt every time I opened the tailgate... both will open but thanks for the heads up!👍👍👍

May be the top portion is locked. Try pressing it for 5 seconds till the light flashes then press it again to open.

Yeah, that was my first item on the list, but unfortunately, it's not that simple... there is some programming needed to make it work, and I am still working on that, but thank you for the information 👍👍👍

When you installed the tail gate, first, did you have to program it to the key fob to unlock and lock it

No, it should automatically work with the lock and unlock feature depending on the truck, which it should just plug and play. The only thing is the upper tailgate that won't release unless you rig it like mine

ever thought of bypassing the wire harness on inner gate connecting a new relay to the actuator lock and wiring the switch to the relay and make a new hot seems like this will work and bypass the bcm and relay in truck

I feel like I would mess up something, and there goes my warranty.... I am great with home electrical, but when it comes to vehicles, I am the basic guy..... if you are in cali and know some.... I would love to hear more

install the auxiliary switch kit optional GM and then disconnect the inner latch Harness in tailgate. Then wire the latches in tailgate (Jump each latch switch to form a Signal wire) to the front of cab to the auxiliary switch wire (positive) and ground the switches on tailgate to frame. This will open the tailgate from inside cab using the relay setup in auxiliary switch and bypass the switch on truck tailgate.

I'm not sure if you van swap cameras, but yes, I did have to drill holes for the zip tie latches, but the bed rug covers it up nicely.

I have a 2019 and trying to do the same. My biggest concern is if the Back up Camera and at least the tailgate release any one did an upgrade on a 19? I have a 19 High Country.

The bed rug was made for a tailgate without the multiflex, so I had to cut it to fit and need to get some good velcro that sticks well

The dealership told me the same thing. And they wanted $3000 to install one and program it to work. But if I installed it they couldn’t do anything and I called B/S also.

@@That-Silverado-Guy do you have the forum on how you zip tied it. I have my tailgate in the paint shop and showed the guys your video but weren’t for sure how it wouldn’t break the zip tie off once closed and with the panels placed back on.

Don’t do it that tailgate is trash. Feels like a trapdoor when you’re standing on it you’ll always worry that if you’re showing someone in your truck, they’re gonna push that button and smash it on your tow hitch traded my truck in for that exact reason lol

I noticed, when searching for a chevy truck, most models does not come with the Pro Gate. The GMC Sierra most trim does have, why? Price? And which model and year of the chevy 1500 that comes with this gate? Curious to know, while still looking for a used truck.
