Ghost brought me here, had no idea it was a cover til today. I expected the song to suck and Ghost made it better (like If you have Ghost) but clearly that's not correct because this song is dope in both versions. Well done SMD!
Obligatory Ghost reference, but a good cover like that is what can bring people to hear something new but listening to originals they never would run into otherwise.
I used to live in a caravan with Irish travellers when I was living in UK all in between 2004-2020. Some unforgettable memories. Much respect to my Irish fellows both: Cambridge's Fen Rd. and Luthersworth Leicestershire.
This video is not making fun of Romania. It is telling you to believe that things can be better. SMD were not making fun of Romania. It is a very emotional song.
I loved this song when it first came out, but until Ghost did a cover, I had completely forgot the artist who did it. Now I've fallen in love with it all over again
Seen them live in Brighton supporting Daft Punk & The Chemical Brothers. What a night! About a 8 hour rave...thank God for speed & cocaine! The funniest thing I remember was seeing an elderly lady, at least mid-eighties with a zimmar frame walking out with the comment "Did you enjoy it? Good rave lads..." I'll never forget that! Peace.
As a romanian i rememebr when this song first aired in Spain and it was hilarious to see such typical romanian elements on a TV station in spain. Me and my friend were laughing loud every time we saw this clip and we danced in a parodistic way in order to mimic the people form the video.
In my opinion this video depicts poverty, but also somehow the value of simple things and how make the best of what you have; the director really underline the beauty and the special in common simple things around you.
I thought it was filmed in France. I'm french and the guy with the green jacket work with kourtrajme his dame is Dimitri bulatovic (not his real name I guess)
I remember listening to this in the summer of 2007 on MTV believe it or not, the last year when they played good music...it's 2019 now.... Things have changed huh... More than we ever thought they would... This is a cycle... Every generation experiences it to some degree... We are forever young in the unknown. We are authors of a world not imagined.
I STILL PLAY THIS. October going into November 2019. This song is STILL A BANGER. Seriously, I love everything about this song. Still as vibrant as it was when I first heard it in 2007. #perennial
