OMG .. this woman just saved my life. I ain't kidding. I was about to go berserk over a point on my homework.

I have such an easier, correct method... Step 1: Take 2 corresponding sides and divide them. This will give you the Scale Factor. So e.g. 52 (DB) corresponds to 13 (QO). Divide them together, you get 4. Step 2: MO (12) corresponds to AB, so multiple 12 by 4 (The Scale factor) and you get the answer to AB, 48. Her method takes nearly 3 mins while mine takes barely one lmao

you want to isolate x in order to state what it equals, therefore dividing by 5 will cancel out both 5's. since you divided one side of the equation by 5 in order to isolate, the same must be done on the other side, giving you your answer

to solve for x, you want the value of 1x or x not of 5x, so if 5x is the multiplication of 5 and x , you divide that 5 ( the coefficient of x ) by 5 : 5/5=1 or 5x=240----> 5x/5=240/5----->5/5 x=48-----> 1x=48------> x=48 ( remember definitions and axiomatic properties and you will solve any algebraic equation )

There is an easier way to do this by the way.... 12/x = 5/20 Then find the simplification of the know and you get the below. ⬇ 12/x = 1/4 After that you multiply the numerator of the unknown by the denominator of the known and you get the below ⬇ 12/48 This simplifies to the below ⬇ 1/4 The rest of the numbers simplify to the same fraction and it's a faster and easier way to do the complicated math that this lady is and you get the same answer. Let me know if this helped you because it sure saves me!!!
