@@GuitarJammerJohn lol the fact about elite sports is that not everyone is gonna win silverware esp in top 5 leagues..in fact the percentage of top players that win nothing in their career is defo more than the ones that win silverware.. in England the last 7 years only 3 clubs have won trophies out of the four up for grabs and in general it is only 5 clubs that win 99 percent of the trophies.. I know I am waffling but tbh any sane person would pick endless riches over legacy
@@GuitarJammerJohnHe’s not really a legacy level player anyway. Tbf he did come from league one to assisting a goal for England in the euros. Albeit I get ur point he could’ve done more and potentially been like a Ian wright or Jamie Vardy
"Football moving from being football to being entertainment" It's been "entertainment" from the moment the first person not playing decided to stop and watch.
The man has done well. He achieved his dream of playing the premier league with a very good record and also made his debut for England at a competition tournament like the Euros . Time to make money for his family and lifetime. There’s no guarantee he’ll be good up to the 2026 World Cup to play then for England. Well done Tonney……Go without looking back
@@henryc92 Yea were making comparisons about different things my friend clearly so if you think im talking about their football careers here then youve daftly missed my point but have a nice day 👋🏾
You haven’t made a point. You’ve made an oblique statement hinting that Jordan was treated differently because you are in a permanent victim mindset. And FYI Simon gave Henderson criticism for going Saudi after his rainbow laces rubbish. Which further invalidates any ‘point’ you were trying to make . Tit.
Why not just stay at Brentford? Why not just keep playing at a London based Premier League club? He is already a millionaire, he will keep getting paid at Brentford. Why are the only choices between a bigger PL club buying him or him going to Saudi? I would rather keep playing high level football in one of the top 5 leagues than go to Saudi
Yes I would,he is earning a great wage he could have went to a top premier league side and make football moments that will last forever but now he has retired what a let down
When it comes to that type of money its not about football anymore, its about someone offering you, your family, your kids, your grandkids and many more complete financial freedom
Mate he is getting paid more money atm than 90% of people would never see in about 6 months I don’t money would ever be a problem for his family or future family
Leave him alone - the man is doing the correct thing - think about family generations - no loyality in football - go to Saudi and earn as much has possible, if one was in the same position you would do the same.
He isn’t even earning 50K per week. Where is the love from the Premier League??? By going to Saudi Arabia, he’s doing the right thing for his age and future. Saudis won’t pay these ridiculous salaries forever
He supposedly met artera and edu and the interview was a car crash and they never followed up interest and think clear why ange wanted solanke not Toney
3:50 simon knows this better than most, ivan should really listen to this! Money comes and goes, memories are the true value in life, then again iv never had money so what do i know 😅
Asian Champions League is a great competition for the neutral. Not a higher standard AT ALL compared to Europe, but entertainment, big bigoted Saudi crowds (great entertainment), Saudis losing to Aussies and getting all bitter about it. Honestly, what's not to like.
The club that stood by him when he was banned? It’s his wage demands that have put other PL clubs off. I really rate him but his greed and lack of loyalty isn’t a good look.
Brentford made a mistake in giving him a huge hike and no contract extension, they should have terminated his contract as soon as he got banned, instead they pandered to him and now they will get £30 mil for him or nothing in the summer!
He needs to secure the future for his family for generations to come. He is afterall a aging player. Also, the Saudi league wants a part of the world football tv cash. Not now but if this continues maybe in 10-15 years. I am european btw
His numbers aren’t as great as people make out but he’s still gonna bag goals. Why aren’t more teams after him when Brentford are lowering their asking price?
SJ is correct about Max Kilman. The guy is a serious player, Man Utd etc spending ridiculous money on players from across Europe and this guy on their door step for half the price. West Ham got a steal there!
With all due respect if a player who has supported a lower league club all their life goes to a big club in the PL for money and an easier path to glory, are they not still mercenaries? Lots of hatred for the Saudis, but going to Saudi for money is no different to going to a big club in England Spain or Germany imo.
Can’t get rid of Casemiro as no one wants to buy him and pay those wages. He will more likely see out his contract unless Utd are prepared to take a hefty loss. Sancho and Antony are the same
The fact that Ivan Toney has left English football should sadden everyone. No English team needed a guaranteed 15 goal a season striker? Let’s see in January how many coaches will be phoning his agent begging him to come back to the Prem.
The guy wants money for his family to be set for a few generations. Why not? Im a lowly corporate worker and if someone said, fancy going to saudi Arabia for 2 years for 60mil tax free? Id be off. We'd all do the same
What is nonsense of non-competitive league. For the past few years no club could win the league in 2 consecutive years while Man city in England, BM in Germany, PSG in France are dominating these leagues. Two years of Ronaldo in the Saudi league and could not win it!
Toney is going to Saudi because he's not as good as the media keep telling him he is, hence why no offers from any of the "big" clubs has been forthcoming.
Hes played out his 25k/week contract for Brentford giving them about 100k/week value to them so you can understand him chasing the money at this point of his career.
Is that the same contract, paid in full whilst banned for his indiscretions? apart from that Brentford bumped his contract up to £70k a week and he's never been worth 100k a week!
No deal has been agreed and Chelsea are in for him as well now, this is the usual Saudi PR stunt, As for Toney, I'm surprised at Simons love in with the guy, he's a flawed individual, with no morals or accountability for his actions and vastly over hyped as a player!, his father being an ex cop (as Simon keeps saying) means absolutely nothing, coppers have clearly shown over the last 10 years they have zero morals or accountability as well (2 tier Policing 😡). He may well go there, because the Saudi's won't care whether he gambles on football or not
Simon , who offered 200K/week to Toney in the EPL? Absolutely no one! Stop making out that EPL is some holy grail where players must stay and die, because its far from it!
Maybe his gambling issue haven't gone away, but he better be careful as they won't allow him to carry on his addiction in SA without serious implications.
He did it once, not constantly if he had that much of an attitude problem like the media and all the fans say Brentford would want rid for cheaper than they are asking. Stop getting your news from salty fans on Twitter
Simon Ivan Toneyis entitled to go to a league like the Saudi league and secure huge earnings and secure the financial future of his family and future generations. It is sad that he will go there in his pomp and sad that a Premier League club is not offering him the market rate for his skills
Why would he go Chelsea, the club is in a mess right now. Toney should go Saudi and collect his coins. Took Southgate how long to put him in the England team? Go Saudi and enjoy.
dont be sad, nobody in the top 6 of the PL wanted him, let alone pay the stupid 60mil brentford were asking for, for a player who scored 20 goals 2 years ago and is in the last year of his contract.
