Palace fans are a brilliant set of fans from what I've experienced over the years...being a Forest fan I can understand wanting to push on to the next level and they've been there much longer than us. I'm sure they don't expect Europe but just being content year upon year with bang average football gets to you after so long! Good luck for the future Palace! May even be with our Coop's
@jemimallah 1X is still over A Million times more then Palace mate. It’s doesn’t matter, 2 European cups is 2 European cups. It doesn’t matter how you look at it.
yoooo his love for the glazers is sooo weird but look how he talks here pathetic guy talks out of both sides of his mouth depending if he likes your team😂😂.....
Bournemouth have 13 points out of 15 and only dropped the two points after a last minute leveler by Villa. Time to stop thinking they can simply be 'rolled over'
Exactly, Bournemouth wins seem to trigger the opposition fans into calamity 'sack the manager' mode. Bournemouth shouldn't be disrespected. Roy was speaking the truth off the cuff post match
It’s not about beating Bournemouth, it’s the manner of the defeat that disappointed me more than anything. That lack of togetherness and fighting spirit. Thankfully it’s been back in the past two games
Hodgson has got form for this. Palace bought Sorloth for a sizeable fee and Hodgson (in 1st spell) didn't play him. He was then sold and has done well elsewhere. He is a better player than any of Palace's current strikers.
As a Palace fan, there is a tipping point where you look to go beyond just surviving. Palace fans have always been on the supportive side but it’s frustrating where you club is constantly funded by selling young players.
So true mate newcastle fan here and obvs the surfing money has sped it up but its the vibes of trying to push that makes it fun. Under Ashley, it was clear that was never the plan and it drained the fans so much, Palace fans deserve thay feeling its an exceptional club that make the prem better. Hiring Roy for another year while may be safe and sensible its hard to dream
If we are in a relegation battle every year then it’s just testament to how we are not improving. Unfortunately the ownership models of football clubs are changing and unless you have outside investment/exceptional manager then you are stuck in the cycle we are.
I really like Crystal Palace fans, they seem a relatively normal, down to earth fanbase given some of the headbangers you see at other London clubs. But I just don't know what Palace are or want to be?
I think a lot of palace fans were grateful for Hodgson galvanising the team in the last part of last season. However this season, the team look back to their old ways of relying on someone to produce something special. Only difference is that there's no Zaha and Eze/Olise have been injured.
You bring in Hodgson then get mad about treading water, it's ridiculous, especially when you've been here before. What is it that they say about being fooled by the same thing twice ?
Yep. I remember after he performed as the worst England manager in living memory, maybe other than McLaren, at the euros. Getting knocked out against Iceland. And he was annoyed that he had to attend a press conference to explain the loss. Saying ‘don’t know why I’m even here’ . Whilst being paid millions to abjectly fail.
Why they sacked Vieira I cannot fathom but to appoint Hodgson is a step backwards. Hodgson is a pragmatic manager he is unremarkable at the best of times. I could predict all of this.
No shots in 4 games , leaving Eze on the bench & sacking a colleague for bollocking the players ? 4 clubs for PV , started well then tailed off , every single time . Hell of a player but couldn't run a bath. Roy was a knee jerk short term idea , he saved us. Time to move on now
Palace has had security under Roy in keeping in Prem, fans get bored of just staying up and expect more i imagine but gotta respect Roy though coz Palace would be relegation fodder every year
I'd get Lopetegui in quick before Forest nab him. Hodgson won't be taking the club any further. What's the point if you're just looking to consolidate every season
Roy Hodgson is the most underrated prem manager in the past 10 years, in his first stint at Palace they net spent £20m over 4 years and he never finished below 14th. That’s a miracle, Roy should have a statue outside Selhurst park for that run.
Fact is you have been spoilt if you manage to get Eze to sign a new contract. It won't stop him leaving, but it will earn you a bunch more money. When Eze and Geuhi have gone in January or next season at best. Goodbye, Palce, unless you can find decent replacements with the money. Actually, that's a bit harsh. You could hang in with the rest of the relegation squad each season.
Hindsight is a great thing but Bournemouth just clobbered Man Utd 3 nil. Triggered Palace fans and Man Utd fans. Maybe Bournemouth are a good team capable of decent results
Never liked Hodgson, always found him, petulant and snide. I remember when he was messing up at Liverpool, it was the players fault, , fans fault, never him. I'm an Arsenal fan, so I have no agenda.
Palace is where they should be. IN london terms, they're not an Arsenal, Chelsa or Spurs. They're not a Leyton Orient or Millwall. Palace are doing fine with their resources. Palace is a more established PL club than Bournemouth. Why can't they boo? they obviously weren't happy with the performance.
I mean, havent Palace been here before ? Wasn't '' moving to the next level '' the whole reason he was replaced the last time ? You bring him in to survive then get upset about '' only surviving ''. If moving to the next level is really the objective then Roy Hodgson is not the man you bring in ffs.
I think Crystal Palace needs to move on from Roy Hodgson and look for a younger manager like what Bournemouth did. Will Still maybe? I don’t know. But you cannot play this type of football in the modern game.
Palace forest Luton Burnley Sheffield united fighting it out for relegation this season...palace have got two good wingers and one good centre back that's it
Roy is out of order . I've supported Palace for 50 years , nobody wants feel grateful to survive , we deserve more than that . We have a handful of world class players that could easily walk into any top four club , we have a passionate & envied fan base , we have the potential to finish in top 8 , possibly higher. Obviously there needs to be investment , especially at RB & a designated striker could make an enormous difference , especially with 2 assist kings feeding him. Injuries have also been an enormous issue , but , nobody wants to see lack of progress or worse , lack of ambition. We've also got loads of youngsters in cracking form that Roy doesn't believe in , even after spending 20 mill on one of them , he can't get on the pitch , exactly what PV did with Eze . If Cooper gets the bullet , snap him up. New ideas , reinstalled faith & belief we can 'do a brighton' & push on .
I'm always happy to listen to both sides of an argument, and I didn't actually say if I wanted Roy sacked or not. I simply said the fans who called the show spoke very well and reflected how the majority of the fan base feels. I think if anybody here looks thick, it's you for being overly emotional and acting like a child but don't let me stop you living your best life as a faceless troll online @@matthewdoyle3877
The Boo's the other night weren't just about the poor performance and losing, it was a number of things that have been building recently, the poor decision to keep Roy for this season, it was the usual cheap and unambitious option for Parich and Co.....it meant yet again we didn't need a number 9 or prem quality full backs, oh and it also meant we could let our talisman Zaha leave and not replace him. I mean come on, what sort of premier league club allows possibly its greatest player to leave for free and not replace him???? Disgusting really. Then there's this phantom new stand Parish promises every season yet nothing ever happens ffs, then there's the other clubs of similar statue like Brighton, Brentford and Fulham who've all been in the prem for less time yet are progressive football clubs that can build new stadiums/stands no problem, and all are now much further ahead of us which hurts Palace fans, the ultimate problem though is our ownership model Parish who isn't a multi millionaire, then we have 3 American billionaires 2 of which arnt interested once they realised you could be relegated from the Premier league. Nothing changes at Palace till the ownership model changes im afraid.
Bournmouth in my opinion was always going to finish around mid table was going to take time to get going they’ve spent over 100m and got a new manager who was one of the best young managers in Europe last season, don’t think it’s as bad as people are saying, and that’s from a villa fan who only managed a draw there Sunday.
So many disillusioned fans on this show, in the so called best football league in the world. Football has become a joke in the UK. Only thing that matters is money, forget entertainment and the paying fans, add VAR to an already crumbling sport, it’s become a boring circus. 🤔🙏🏻🙏🏻
I saw Roy @ soho square 2 days ago around 12 noon and I thought ain’t this guy meant to be in a training pitch not soho square 😂😂😂😂 good to see him going strong and young tho🙌🏾
Gotta admit as a Liverpool fan, i dont like facing Palace....bad memories and that lol, But Eze and Olise are legit i think i prefer Eze over Olise but both are entertaining to watch, They have the players, it the managers fault. Roy is soooooo negative, again...im a liverpool fan so i should know how negative his tactics are, so i believe the Palace fans when they say the football is boring, Palace have had a team more suited to attacking front foot football for years, but hired Roy who is known for devensive tactics, makes no sense to me, as when Palace actually go for it, they are a force to be reckoned with, if you hamstring the team with negative tactics....this is the result, Palace will be fine though, no need to worry about being relegated.
😂😂Simon you are full of yourself. Palace was wrong owned by you. You got them relegated & put into administration. For the ten years you owned Palace they were a Championship & once in the top flight.
Depressing to hear Simon say the new stand will never get built. I hope that's wrong, but if so there's cheap ways to increase the capacity. We also need to replace Dougie Freedman. His transfers have got us in this mess 🦅🦅🦅
Generally, Palace fans are a realistic bunch. They don't expect millions that the club doesn't have for transfers. Nor to be playing in Europe. After 12 years, they just wanna see the club push on a bit. Parish promised them at last seasons last home game, they they would take the club to the next level. I'm guessing the fans presumed upwards, not downwards. I've got no problems with Roy, but let the guy retire. Steadying the ship was fine. But this season, a new manager should've been appointed. Parish has no ambition. He's more interested in a state of the art youth academy, which rarely produces first teasers. Even if Palace stay up, olise and eze will go. They're better than a struggling side. I genuinely think Parish is the problem. He talks a good game.
After using the phrase himself for what seems like an age, finally - Simon is "playing to the gallery" in criticizing Hodgson and openly siding with the Palace fans
Its quite simple, its down to injuries. Olise out, we struggle, Eze out we struggle. We cannot win games with one talented forward on the pitch. The rest of our squad is mediocre at best and the blame there falls with the owners.. If Roy had Olise and Eze playing, we'd naturally play more exciting football and win more games.. Unfortunately we do not and we are stuck playing boring, sit back and nick a goal football - I personally don't blame Roy, with the crop of forward players we have, we can't do much else until Eze's back.
Agree. The recruitment in summer was poor. Back up CB, injured goalie, defensive midfielder on a free and a young Brazilian who has yet to really play. Palace needed to replace zaha and bring in a different kind of striker to mateta/eduoard.
Let’s face it traditionally Palace are a Micky Mouse club who are over achieving being in the Premier League. Their level is really lower championship upper league 1.
